Hi there! My name is Chinh. If you’ve reached my page, chances are that your heart has been broken, you probably just had the umpteenth argument with your significant other, or you are just tired of the endless cycle of self-doubt, low self-esteem, and irrational thoughts/beliefs. Or possibly, you are here because of all of the above! Let me help you. I come from a culture that does not typically believe in mental illness. Emotional issues were either ignored or swept under the rug. I was taught growing up that it wasn't normal to want to talk about my feelings; showing any type of emotion was a sign of weakness. Because of my upbringing, my hope as a therapist is not only to help end the stigma associated with mental illness, but also help normalize it. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. I also have a Ph.D. in Counseling. I have years of experience as a social worker, working with adults, couples, and families. I use a strength-based and holistic approach to motivate and empower my clients to problem-solve new ways to create positive and lasting changes in their lives.

Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.

I focus on adults, couples, and families utilizing a systems approach to help process and maintain a healthy individual self and the relationship. I empower couples and individuals to overcome personal and relational obstacles to help improve themselves and strengthen the couple's dynamic. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in human services and counseling for eight years using clinically tested and evidence-based therapeutic models and interventions. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I am trained in psychotherapy and view therapy from a systemic point of view, meaning that I believe the quality of our relationships, being family, friends, romantic partners, etc. plays a significant role in the quality of our lives. Marriage and family therapists broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks such as marriage and the family. As a therapist, I take a holistic perspective on health care; I am concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals, couples, and families. Do you ever feel like your painful thoughts, feelings, and memories get in the way of reaching your full potential? Maybe it seems like most people are handling life's challenges better than you are. You find yourself asking if your life could be more meaningful, more fulfilling. What is the purpose of everything I have been through? I want to help you explore and answer the big questions in your life and I am passionate about helping you improve your self-esteem and self-worth. My specialization and experience in trauma work stems from my belief that unresolved trauma can have a significant impact on our mental health and well-being and these painful experiences and memories can make it difficult to enjoy life and fulfill our potential. Our work together will help you identify, explore, and process the impact of trauma wounds big and small. I consider myself a recovering people-pleaser and a forever work-in-progress. I believe learning about and improving yourself is a lifelong process that we are all a part of. Rather than think of myself as an expert, I aim to support you during this phase in your life as a fellow traveler because I also understand the struggle of trying to sort through and make meaning of past hurts.

Bitini Pannell, a licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, exhibits a profound dedication to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress. Her professional journey, extending over 10 years, has been marked by a deep commitment to providing compassionate and effective care to her clients. Following her academic pursuits, Bitini initiated her career in counseling at a community mental health center, crisis field response, criminal justice/prison systems and hospitals. This role involved delivering therapy to individuals presenting a wide array of mental health concerns, often working with the most underserved and acute populations, thereby enriching her expertise in the field. Bitini's specialization encompasses trauma therapy and somatic therapy, but her therapeutic repertoire extends beyond these. She skillfully integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into her practice. CBT, a widely recognized psychotherapeutic treatment, helps clients identify and challenge distorted cognitions and develop more balanced and constructive thinking patterns. DBT, on the other hand, is particularly effective in teaching skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance, especially beneficial for clients with intense emotional responses or those exhibiting self-destructive behaviors. Additionally, Bitini utilizes mindfulness and solution-focused therapy techniques. Mindfulness encourages clients to engage with the present moment in a non-judgmental manner, enhancing their awareness and acceptance of their thoughts and feelings. This approach is instrumental in managing stress and reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Solution-focused therapy, with its future-oriented and goal-directed framework, aids clients in identifying and harnessing their strengths and resources to constructively address their problems. Her holistic approach, incorporating both mind and body through somatic therapy, is particularly effective for clients who have endured diverse traumatic experiences. These include childhood trauma, neurodivergence, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Understanding that each client’s experience is unique, Bitini meticulously tailors her therapy to align with their individual experiences and needs.
