With the right match, psychotherapy is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and see people remotely in New York and Michigan. My approach is warm, genuine, and affirming. It's my job to listen and understand how your background, circumstances, relationships, and overlapping social identities have shaped your experience. Rather than telling you what I think you should do, I'll help you navigate what you're dealing with so you can heal and move forward. I prefer to meet weekly to start.
I have a master’s degree with a law minor from Columbia University and a bachelor's in psychology from the University of Michigan; I've practiced social work for 20+ years. I’ve devoted much of my career to social justice and have worked with, and on behalf of kids and adults of all ages in the areas of mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice, education, LGBTQIA+ rights, and homeless services. After some soul searching and shifting of my "why," I've returned to clinical practice and love meeting and working with people from all walks of life.

Do you find yourself attempting to dismiss negative thoughts or memories? Possibly avoiding situations, scenarios, and places that remind you of something not so great? Do these memories invoke some kind of negative belief about yourself that you know is not true? Do you desire to decrease the intensity of these memories, thoughts or experiences so they are no longer as intrusive and demanding of your attention? I empower those who are ready to address some of the things from the past or the present that may be presenting a mental and emotional weight on functioning, relationships, and overall well-being.

Hi everyone! I'm Josh. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, self-worth, and social anxiety. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfulling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!

You may be seeking therapy for various reasons, or have the feeling it might help without knowing your specific goals. I believe therapy is an opportunity for growth through an authentic relationship, and through this human connection, we can discover your goals, needs, and hopes for therapy.
I most often work with queer clients, neurodivergent folks, and those with mood disorders. I offer an honest, safe, and non-hierarchical space to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings. I strive to support my clients in finding ways to thrive despite our oppressive world.
If you are looking for a safe relationship to explore who you are and what you need, I would be honored to walk that path with you.

My name is Andrea. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of FL and NY. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and adults in inpatient and outpatients settings, including corrections. I was raised in NY by West Indian (Caribbean)/Asian parents. I then moved to FL where I earned my BA in Psychology and Masters in Mental Health Counseling. My passion is helping others figure out this crazy thing called life, and learn how to live with more satisfaction.
My approach to therapy is person centered and may change from patient to patient. This means it will be tailored to each person's specific needs. I enjoy building rapport with my patients to help encourage a healthy therapeutic relationship and allow my patients to feel as comfortable as possible. So whether it's anxiety, depression, or trauma etc., let's figure this out together!

Hello, I am Dr. Young.
Life is full of colors. Light or dark, each has its unique quality. The secret to becoming successful in playing the game of life is to change from the inside out.
We live to move forward, and it requires us to be more and do more. Resilience is an innate human capacity. In my view, everyone is capable of self-healing given the proper guidance and provided with supportive conditions. With a cultivated healthy sense of self, solutions appear with the clarity to think about what you desire in life, not what you cannot or don't have.
In tough water, even good swimmers might struggle. If you have dreams and hopes, I can help you to pick up new skills going through the waves of life. Let's work together!

Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida, with additional licensure in NY and NC. I graduated from St. Lawrence University in Upstate New York and have been practicing in the field for nearly 8 years. I got my start in community outpatient mental health, where I worked with clients from all walks of life, from children as young as five to adults as old as ninety. The majority of my experience, however was working with children and families, as well as adults struggling with various mood disorders and substance use. After meeting my husband, who is currently serving active duty in the Air Force, I spent time working with military members and their families. This allowed me the opportunity to understand and relate to this community on both a personal and professional level. I love working and providing care to my military family as I understand the complexities and challenges involved in living a military lifestyle. However, in recent years, I have found myself working primarily in primary care settings (both virtually and in-person) providing care to those struggling with anxiety, depression, and comorbid chronic conditions. I have found there is immense value in treating both mind and body together for overall wellness and maintenance. I hope to help others find what is meaningful for them in their own lives while identifying their strengths, breaking down barriers, and ultimately achieving their physical and mental wellness dreams!

Hello My name is Kianna and I have been working in the mental health field for more than 20 years. I attended undergrad at Colgate University where I studied Sociology and Biology. There I developed a passion for Mental Health and a thirst to understand why people do the things we do. I attended the Syracuse University School of Social Work and majored in Mental Health. I have worked with diverse populations of all ages since then and came to find that I enjoy working with people who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds, people of color, women, Autists, and persons living with Anxiety and Trauma of all kinds. Trauma comes in many forms and the abuser can be a member of your family, a stranger and even your society.
As a Social Worker of color, I was drawn to becoming a therapist after my own struggle to find a therapist that looks like me. I want to dismantle the stigma that many communities carry about seeking help for mental challenges and show people that everyone can benefit from a better relationship with themselves.
