Hi there! My name is Erin Dey and I am a licensed clinical social worker located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I have a masters’ degree from Columbia University, and I specialize in helping clients successfully navigate challenging life transitions. I was also part of the NC Child Welfare Collaborative, which provided specific training in NC DSS and child welfare. I began my career practicing as a child protective services social worker. I worked as a front-line worker and as a supervisor with children and families related to abuse and neglect. I have experience working in hospital and community settings. I currently work in private practice with children, adults, and geriatrics. I have experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused treatment, and dialectical behavioral therapy. I have worked with high conflict custody cases, and family reunification, and provided expert testimony in court proceedings. My clinical background is as follows: I got my BA from the University of Pennsylvania, and I graduated with a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University in New York City in 1992. Since then I have practiced with individuals in New York City, and since 2006 have worked with clients in North Carolina and Tennessee. I have developed deep roots in Western NC and East Tennessee. Along the way I have had a career that included management of behavioral health programs, working in hospitals and in the field, with people with a wide range of emotional needs related to their behavioral health.
