I believe strength resides in all of us. I can and will be at times very blunt and to the point, but I do know that this is your life being discussed not mine. I have an inclusive feminist background and am comfortable working with all genders. I believe that laughter is the best medicine and that everyone is capable of living the best life possible. I live in a multi dog/cat/parrot household and odds are good you will not just hear them but may occasionally see them. No worries they don’t judge and have been sworn to HIPAA secrecy.

Hello! So glad you are here! Do you get into relationships hoping that this time things will be different? Do you feel overwhelmed and have a hard time exploring and working towards your goals or just life fulfillment? Would you like a more kind and loving relationship with yourself? I love helping people who are ready to identify patterns that hold them back from happiness and fulfillment in both relationship and other areas of life. My name is Lisa and I provide therapy for both addictions and mental health issues. While I have treated those with active addiction for many years, I also treat the patterns stemming from addictions and family dysfunction. This can impact relationships as well as how we see ourselves throughout life. I have a Masters of Education degree in Counselor Education from Southern Illinois University specializing in Substance Abuse. From substance abuse counseling, I have expanded my areas of specialties to include family and relationship dynamics and how to heal survival skills" that have evolved into self defeating life patterns.

Hi I'm Gaby. If you have been feeling sick and stuck in a negative thought process and wondering if there is anyone who can understand or help you, let's talk. I am here to help you experience change and escape from the pattern of life that has left you feeling different, unwell, and stuck. I am first and foremost a Trauma Informed Recovery Therapist. This means that I believe in you and I believe in your goals and I know we can find a way to get there while acknowledging all that you have been through. I realized I wanted to become a therapist during a serendipitous summer camp experience—40 feet in the air on the high ropes course, I learned that I loved helping people process challenging experiences in creative ways. I love using a lot of different approaches depending on what we are working on. Some of my favorite methods are cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, strength based therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I have been doing individual therapy with teens and adults of all ages since 2020. Previously, I worked as a clinical consultant, clinical director, and clinical supervisor in specialized mental health rehabilitation settings. I have been supporting people in creating and meeting their goals since 2012. I have used all of my past work experiences to learn how to work with clients to explore dreams, and strengths, and learn how to make these things their reality. I use eclectic strategies to support people as they sort through their lives and figure out ways to move forward in a new light. I believe that therapy is a special space that allows a person to sit, process, and problem-solve in a way that can’t always be done in day-to-day.

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." -Victor E. Frankl Hello, Searching and finding a good therapist is paramount to therapy success. Above all else, It requires a good 'fit.' I hope a bit of a back ground story will help you with this process. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile but more importantly, taking the first step. Not easy. My name is Dawn and I'm a retired paramedic of 27 years from the Chicago Fire Department with over 30 years’ experience in Fire/EMS service. I graduated with a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My school concentration was Trauma and Crisis Intervention. After graduating, I worked as a therapist under Dr. Carrie Steiner at First Responder Wellness Center in Lombard, Il. What a great start and opportunity. Fast forward. I now have my own private practice - Frontline Wellness Center! Why? Demand. Moreover, I'm an advocate to those who serve others. I am devoted and motivated to helping those on the frontline (EMS, Fire, Military/Vets, Correction officers, 911 Dispatch, public safety, Nurses, Caseworkers, States attorney's, Emergency volunteers etc.) Essentially, all occupations that challenge or compromise the mental health, safety and physical well-being of Frontline workers due to the unique job role and individual expectations. Otherwise known as the 'helping' professions devoted to fixing or saving others often at the expense and compromise of personal health and safety. My educational and clinical experience is C-PTSD (complex trauma) and PTST (post-traumatic stress disorders). I treat variety of distressing symptoms and issues that arise from a critical incidence/s or accumulative symptoms from abnormal events and experiences. Those on the Frontline are human! First responders often have a traumatic past that is compartmentalized or buried next to their work related experiences resulting in burnout or PTSD that includes experiencing unexpected disturbing /frightening triggers. Hidden or unresolved traumatic experiences/events including combat /moral injury, childhood abuse, sexual assault, and domestic abuse/relational trauma truly DO matter. However, past or present traumatic events can be processed safely with the appropriate treatment providing a path for hope and relief. My personal and professional experiences allows me to treat other overwhelming life experiences and transitions that can equally exasperate a bad shift, job performance and daily life. The effects of aging and/or retirement, divorce, addiction, chronic pain and job-related disabilities are just a few life adjustments that affect normal daily functioning, including our interpersonal relationships. I truly understand and can help you get you to a better place, a better life, a better - you. Hidden. Wounds. Matter.

As a child, I always wanted to pursue a career where I could assist with an individual’s growth, creativity and happiness. I learned at a young age the struggles that life can bring, not only through the inevitable, but also through situational traumas that we at times have to face and endure. Being an active member in the clinical field of helping professionals, I have certainly learned the importance of patience, empathy and peace. Identifying and securing ones’ purpose in life, creates the true masterpiece of one’s story. My goal is to assist you in your journey to self-actualization.

“An Arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back, it means that it is going to launch you into something great.” Life has its way of pulling us backward, but I believe with positive support, healthy coping skills, and processing through things that are dragging you back; you can learn to thrive and launch yourself into greater things. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Missouri and also licensed in Illinois and Massachusetts. I received my Master's from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have worked with clients of all ages and enjoy the chance to help you make positive changes to live your best life! I have worked in the mental health field for over ten years. Throughout my time working in mental health I have worked with clients with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance and alcohol use disorders. My greatest skill as a therapist is being able to work with clients and help them feel accepted, heard, and understood. I have been trained in many therapy modalities and use these skills to help clients learn coping skills to better manage and cope with daily stress and symptoms they have previously suffered from. I believe change is possible. Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, I teach clients mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. This specific therapy modality was specifically created to help people diagnosed with personality disorders, but I have also found these skills effective in treating a range of other symptoms including anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, mood disorders, self-harming behaviors, trauma responses, and eating disorders. I integrate DBT skills into my client's treatment based on their needs. By learning these helpful and healthy coping skills I have witnessed my clients learn to not only manage their lives better but thrive in life.

I want to make therapy as comfortable as possible. Coming to therapy can be an intimidating process. The last thing people want is some stuffy, uptight professional that makes people feel like they need to censor themselves. I pride myself in being warm, friendly, and relatable. I view therapy as a collaboration between the therapist and client. I will do my best to make your therapy experience positive. My role is to listen, teach, support, and collaborate with my clients. I have worked in a variety of settings since embarking on my journey as a mental health clinician including hospice care, domestic violence, community mental health, intensive outpatient, and urgent mental healthcare. My preference is to work with mature adolescents and adults of all ages both in person and virtually. I believe mental health services should be accessible; therefore, my private pay rate for those making under 40k per year is $80 per session. Otherwise, my regular private pay rate is $100 per individual session and $120 for family. I also accept insurance. I do not provide couples therapy.

I began training to be a psychotherapist 15 years ago after having worked in publishing for many years. Becoming a Social Worker and helping others has always been a kind of calling for me, but it took a little while for me to arrive at my goal. I hope that that part of my story helps to prove that it is never too late to change or to pursue goals. I continue to integrate the things that I have learned through formal education and through my own experiences of life so that I am best able to help others who are experiencing distress and difficulties with navigating life. We all need additional support from time-to-time, especially given the complicated, fast-changing world we live in. My goal as a psychotherapist is to be a source of support and assistance as you develop insight into the difficulties you face and as you begin to develop strategies for change. Through interactive-therapy sessions, I help you to understand and clarify life’s challenges and I support you as you begin to make the changes that are needed to make progress towards your goals. I help my clients to discover and explore a positive path in therapy that they can then continue to follow as they pursue their goals and their lives independently.

Hello, my name Patrick and I served in three combat tours: serving our country for nine years as a United States Marine. I decided to serve those that are mentally ill in 2013 after my tour of service. After 5 years of study and schooling I got my start in 2017 in a dual-disorder treatment center conducting Intensive inpatient/outpatient groups and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy as an approach to treating mental health disorders. Today, I specialize in taking an eclectic approach to using interventions looking at the holistic approaches to the human dynamic. This means looking at a person’s relationships and/or lack, cognitive schemas, their behaviors and habits, their priorities, and then determining how interventions and treatment plans will be formulated. I look at a person’s self-concept and determine holistically how their behaviors, thoughts, and patterns are contributing to their problems and functioning. The skills and tools of a therapist are the personal characteristics they bring into therapy: empathy, active listening these aren’t just attributes that look good on paper but are verbal and non-verbal forms of communication; and its these skills I believe what enables successful outcomes in therapy.
