Hello my name is Sandra Nunez, and I provide intuitive psychotherapy services to individual, children, couples, and families in need of counseling. People search for therapy for various reasons. Most often these reasons include feelings of sadness, experiencing difficulties adjusting to life changes, difficulties dealing with chronic physical pain, emotional pain, trauma, depression, anger, and anxieties. Perhaps you are trying to heal from a difficult relationship breakup, leaving you feeling sad and defeated. It could be that you are a part of a newly formed blended family, living together for the first time, and instead of joy you are experiencing chaos. You may be seeking help, because your spouse has received orders for yet another deployment with the military. Having to say goodbye once again, leaves you feeling frustrated, anxious and sad. Often people come to therapy due to grief and loss. People dealing with difficult life changes, may experience a range of negative emotions, from sadness, anxiety to anger. These feelings often manifest as stress, which may cause further strain in personal relationships or affect one’s quality of life. Guiding Hope Individual and Family Therapy in San Diego, California is a private online practice owned by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Doctorate in Behavioral Health, serving clients in the State of California and Colorado.

Hi, I'm Celeste! I am passionate about helping people live a happier life- whether that means learning how to better manage anxiety, working through traumas, or developing a kinder inner monologue. I believe in order to make any changes, we must first understand how we got here. That is why I place a big emphasis on insight and help you understand how you got where you are, why it makes sense, and how we can change it. I love mixing and matching approaches to best suit your individual needs. I often use psychodynamic theory, which looks at the subconscious and Cognitive Behavioral Theory, which looks at the interaction between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also focus on somatics, or the body. In our work together we will explore the signals your body is sending you and how to regulate them. I believe the most important thing in our time together is that you feel heard, seen, and supported. I view it as an honor to guide a client back to themselves and assist in building a more fulfilling and enjoyable life!

I take a strength-based approach, and I work with clients on spirituality and meaning making, creativity, dream analysis, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, stress related to disability and other discrimination, grief, chronic illness, losses, and life change. My interests are in social justice, coping with discrimination, health and wellness, and resilience. My therapy style is warm and welcoming. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion, and providing a safe space to listen to clients. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology with Specialization in Existential, Humanistic, and Transpersonal Psychology from Saybrook University. I also hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, an M.S. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an M.A. in Disability, Health and Illness from the University of Leeds, and bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington, Seattle. I specialize in dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. What drew me to therapy was my interest in social justice work while I was attending the University of Washington for my undergraduate education, and did peer counseling with students. I have always been interested in helping people, I enjoy hearing people’s stories, and I also find that in the therapeutic process I learn more about myself. Through my therapy journey I have gained much experience in working with diverse people. In addition, during my time at Saybrook University, I received training in spiritual approaches in therapy, and dream analysis and lucid dreaming therapy. I'm glad you are moving towards living a more fulfilling and happier life, and I am here to support you so you can empower yourself on your journey of transformation.

It also works well with my CBT problem-solving techniques allowing me to get to know you better but also allowing me to help guide you through the problems you may be facing. My communication style is honest, transparent, and caring when speaking with my client, which sometimes means telling them things they may not want to hear. However, I am often told that I am warm and gentle in my approach. At this moment, I only see adult individual therapy and not couple, family, or children therapy.

It never ceases to amaze me just how often I have to try to convince others that they are worthy SIMPLY because they exist. This includes you! I want to know who communicated to you that you are not enough and why you value the opinion of said person(s); these types of harmful beliefs are learned, not innate. Let's unlearn them together. Most of my early clinical work has been with children and adolescents with focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, trauma and various behavioral and emotional issues. I have worked in high-intensity and high-crisis environments from school to hospital settings. I am passionate about working with and creating a safe space for folks who belong to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I understand that belonging to a marginalized/oppressed group can result in barriers to achieving and maintaining optimal mental health. I am a cis/het woman doing my best to provide care that is equitable and gender-affirming. I'm always learning and growing as an ally; you will always be safe here. I am also always looking at things through a trauma-informed lens. I'm a busy working parent who understands how hard it can be to do it all. I am currently pursuing a certification in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to be able to better support soon-to-be and new parents; this particular journey is no joke!

My clinical approach is aligned with "Radical Healing Theory," which encompasses a holistic approach to healing beyond physical health and addresses the underlying causes of suffering and inequality. It acknowledges the interconnectedness of various social, economic, political, and environmental systems and their impact on individual and collective well-being. Radical healing is rooted in critical theory and social justice frameworks. It challenges traditional notions of health and healing by centering marginalized voices and experiences. It seeks to dismantle oppressive structures and promote equity, justice, and liberation.

Hello, it's a pleasure to "e-meet" you! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California and I have been working as a therapist for over 25 years. I enjoy teaching and utilizing different methods of therapy to provide psycho-education, increase insight and flexible thinking patterns, evaluate your symptoms that are unpleasant or unmanageable, monitor your progress (both short and long term goals) and practice applying your new coping skills to enhance your strengths and live a more fulfilling life. I do give homework so you can practice new coping skills and exercise self care throughout the week. Homework is strictly optional, but it's all for the "new you" and you deserve self care daily! *Let's talk and unpack your history and process more understanding during your "road trip" with me. I will be your co-pilot while you are behind the wheel- that way you manage the speed because it's all about you feeling safe, secure and trusting the process and feelings of leaving what doesn't work for you behind, staying present, taking deep breaths, feeling pride in your strength and positivity to hold that space as we then proceed and keep going. *We will travel to your destination(s): Feeling better and resolving conflicts and we will have to stop for "gas" to recharge/rest/review our progress and determine if we are going in the right direction. We will explore other ways of thinking and reconstruct new ways of thinking your destinations. We won't race to the finish line, and remember: You have your foot on the brake to slow down when needed. Remember: pacing, trust, monitoring energy and feelings, and practicing new routes will get us to your destination safely!

Im a Bilingual English/Spanish-speaking therapist with a Marriage and Family License, with 18 years of clinical experience, 12 years licensed and in private practice. I consider myself to be bi-cultural. Having been raised as a first-generation American in a Latin family, I can identify with the mentality of someone living within two "worlds". Transitioning from one culture to another with seemingly different values, beliefs and language. I can easily understand the struggle that maintaining, and existing in both, can sometimes be. I've come to perceive and appreciate it as the gift of having a "bridge" that allows connection to, and understanding of, different aspects of people and life. My education has a foundation in Clinical Psychology, woven with holistic transpersonal themes, the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and just plain down-to-earth common sense. Always keeping in mind the client's personal beliefs and values.

Hello, You may have often heard some people say that therapy is for only those with a mental illness or are "crazy". I'm Mark G. Koch and have been a licensed Marriage Family Therapist since 1996, and I can honestly tell you that those type of statements are a myth. Everyone has a view of how the world works and we use the tools we have to deal with our issues, but occasionally there comes a time when a problem arises that we have no answer to. At this point we become "stuck". You can say that these are the cards life has dealt you and do nothing, or you can get help to learn new ways to see your world and use new tools to change your world. You have the strength and you have the power and somewhere in your mind, you have the answers. My job is to help you find them and to show you how to use them, so that you can begin to move towards whatever your goals are for your world. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, County Mental Health, non-profit organizations and most recently utilizing remote virtual therapy. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and groups. My expertise in is Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and other Anxiety Disorders along with Depression, but I also have had a multitude of experience with Personality Disorders, Bi-Polar Disorders, and with dual diagnosis. A dual diagnosis is when a person has a mental health issue such as depression, and is also dealing with a drug/alcohol issue. Having said all of this, I actually have had a great amount of success dealing with adolescents, those having relationship issues, and communication between couples. I look forward to hearing from you.

I've worked with individuals who have/are suicidal, self-harming, drug & alcohol addiction, sexual abuse, domestic violence, complex trauma, physical illness, child abuse & neglect, autism, anxiety, grief, depression, ptsd, homeless, at-risk, terminal illness and gender distress. Taking care of yourself and establishing your boundaries are key. Please feel free to ask me any questions, and I'll reply as soon as possible. I deeply care about each person I do therapy for and can provide necessary referrals. You've made it this far! Continue taking the steps towards booking your therapy session and strengthen yourself.
