Hello, I'm an experienced therapist with over 20 years in the field. I have always been interested in people’s stories and support clients facing a variety of issues: insomnia, sadness, anxiety, grief/loss, relationship challenges, work and life stress, and lgbtq support. If you are facing a challenge,it may be helpful to talk to an empathetic professional trained to help you develop new perspectives, feel supported and make changes. My focus is on the uniqueness of each client and feel it is important to establish rapport and a partnership so that the therapy experience is collaborative. I will not simply sit and listen but will interact, ask questions, and offer suggestions. I enjoy working with adults of any age in individual therapy. Some of my specialties include stress management, grief and loss, anxiety , self-esteem and supporting clients facing life changes. With more than 20 years of experience, I consider myself an eclectic therapist using an Integrative Holistic approach. I use a variety of tools from different therapies including Rogerian, Cognitive Behavioral, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Client Centered and Family of Origin in order to best support a client’s journey toward relief and wholeness of Mind, Body, and Spirit. I look forward to working with you and invite you to reach out.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California and have been licensed for about 10 years now. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in Anthropology in 2004. I also received my Masters in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2005. Finally, I received my Masters degree from the University of Chicago in 2012 in Social Work with a clinical concentration. My professors used to tease me and call me the "thermometer" because I had so many degrees. I actually love learning (I do not love studying) and am a true "book worm." I built my own telescope when I was in high school and I have seen several stars (Arcturus and Vega) and Neptune up close which were amazing.

I truly look forward to meeting you. I feel excited every time I meet with a new client. It is the beginning of a journey we take together. It is an interpersonal and authentic relationship in which it is safe for you to discover your fullest potential. I am kind and caring but will also encourage you to look more deeply into your blind spots. I believe in respect, kindness and humor. I treat my clients as human beings, not as a diagnosis. I especially enjoy working with individuals feeling that something from their past is holding them back. And with couples who are feeling stuck. I love helping clients to find true happiness. I am interpersonal and strengths-based. I offer unconditional positive regard and also an ability to help you to see what is blocking your growth and your happiness. You are not a diagnosis. You are a human being. I know that it is hard to make that first call. It is worth it. I truly look forward to hearing from you.

Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT We are all unique, yet we seem to struggle in similar ways. Have you found yourself repeating the same patterns over and over thinking you could do it differently but found yourself, yet again, in the same place? There is a way to move through painful patterns and create change. Experiences of trauma, in all forms, create challenges in our daily lives. With empathy, true understanding, and knowledge of ourselves, we can learn to navigate through life with more awareness. If this is relatable to you, please reach out and we can work together to create more of the things you want in your life. My background is in person-centered therapy. Negative life experiences prevent us from enjoying our successes and preparing for future success in personal relationships (with others and ourselves), work, and parenting. As we move out of our old thought patterns, we can create new experiences and attitudes. Let me assist your next journey! I have supported children, adults, and elders in their efforts to create new approaches and desired change in their lives. I would be honored to support you and your journey to get more of what you want and need in your life.

I am firmly rooted in the belief that the therapeutic process is a symbiotic collaboration between therapist and client. Regardless of whether you're navigating a temporary challenge and seeking targeted, solution-driven guidance, or grappling with a persistent concern that requires long-term therapeutic involvement, there are moments when we all benefit from external assistance. I recognize the importance of individualizing therapeutic interventions. Everyone's journey is distinct, influenced by their unique life experiences, cultural backgrounds, and individual belief systems. It's essential to take a comprehensive view, taking into account not just the present symptoms but the whole person and their life narrative. By understanding each person’s individual story, I can offer more tailored guidance and interventions. This personalized approach not only addresses the immediate concerns but also empowers clients to better handle future challenges with increased confidence and self-awareness. I earned my doctorate degree from the esteemed California School of Professional Psychology. My professional journey has seen me serve in a range of environments. This journey includes my work at the UCLA Anxiety Disorder Clinic, where, as a psychological assistant under a seasoned psychologist, I honed my skills in managing anxiety disorders. My expertise also extends to substance abuse environments, both in acute inpatient psychiatric hospital, as well as outpatient clinics, where I've addressed the intricate dance between anxiety, depression, and addiction. My work in collegiate settings, such as President Barack Obama’s alma mater, has equipped me with insights into the stresses and anxieties faced by students navigating academic pressures and life's pivotal decisions. Furthermore, In the unique and challenging setting of maximum security prisons. Where as a forensic psychologist, I've supported inmates, including those serving life sentences, through the complex emotional landscapes of anxiety and depression linked to their circumstances. My therapeutic approach is anchored in both cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theory. Typically, I employ psychodynamic perspectives to facilitate deeper insights into the origins of a client's psychological concerns. This understanding then serves as a foundation upon which we build a CBT-driven treatment plan, ensuring you're well-equipped to achieve your therapeutic objectives.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I got my Masters in Social Work at UC Berkeley in 2004, and became licensed in 2010. I help individuals cope with the stressors of early adulthood, parenting, and being stuck in the "sandwich generation," caring for children and older relatives, with little or no time for self care. I have particular experience working with parents of children with special needs. My approach is always strength-based and supportive, and I utilize tools from Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients heal and grow. I welcome LGBTQ+ individuals, and especially LGBTQ+ parents.
