Hi there! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with a specialization in Trauma. I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, GA. My Bachelor in Human Services with a focus in Case Managment from Kennesaw State University. I would be extremely honored if you would allow me to accompany you on this journey called life. On this journey, you'lve likely encountered hills, valleys, rays of sunshine and stormy days. In working with me, you can expect to confront, engage and conquer your worst fears. Do not be dismayed; you won't be doing this on your own. I'll be right by your side - every step of the way!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session you can expect there to be some information gathering and just getting to know one another. The more information you provide by completing the forms provided, the less questioning will occur during the initial meeting. You will be invited to ask any questions you have of me to help you decide if I am the right fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with those who've experienced trauma, severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder and personality disorders), I am uniquely positioned to listen to (and remember) your entire story. You see, I believe that people do make sense if you understand their story.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My theoretical approach is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which is the base that Dialectical Behavioral, Acceptance and Committment Therapy and several others have developed from. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is also an approach that is utilized for very specific, resistant issues.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

A wide range of populations such as Personality Disorders, Depression, Trauma can benefit from DBT, primarily because it teaches us the art of mindfulness and being able to better manage distressing situations with emotion regulation. And in the world we live in now, who wouldn't benefit from interpersonal effectiveness? This modality has a huge application; I've seen a number of clients utilize the skills and don't seem so overwhelmed when life throws its curve balls.
