I am a trauma-focused mental healthcare provider with 7+ years of experience supporting clients through issues related to disaster response/recovery, grief & loss, substance use, homelessness, sexual abuse & domestic violence, and other mental health crises. I am passionate about promoting holistic healing via creativity, physical expression, as well as building and maintaining community connections. While I regularly take on contract roles for disaster mental health relief, my individual work with teletherapy clients keeps me grounded and focused in my clinical practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In an initial session, my goal is to establish a strong foundation by getting to know you and aligning our expectations to ensure mutual success. I will begin by asking questions to gather information about your reasons for seeking therapy and your goals. This will enable us to collaboratively explore and define a treatment approach that meets your needs as we move forward together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I consider myself to be open-minded, conscientious, and loyal in my work with others. Former coworkers have described me as having warm, uplifting energy and noted that they feel inspired by my bold sense of creativity. My experiences responding to mental health crises and natural disasters have instilled in me a sense of equanimity when faced with challenging situations, and I endeavor to impart this calm and centered approach in support of others when engaging in deep internal work.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

While my general approach to mental health support comes from a trauma-focused lens, I have been trained in EMDR & Somatic Experiencing as specialized approaches to be utilized with clients as necessary.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Some clients find that the more structured format of this modality suits them well and serves as a solid basis for deeper therapeutic processing.

Grief Therapy

I have extensive training and experience supporting clients through issues of grief and loss, and am grateful to have found myself in a position to provide additional assistance during some of these most challenging experiences of their lives. Grief therapy requires a great deal of patience and a willingness to witness and honor the bereavement process.

Eclectic

While my education and professional experience have been largely informed by trauma-focused approaches to therapy, I would generally refer to my methods as eclectic with implementation of various treatment modalities. In a therapeutic relationship, relevant knowledge and tools are applied based on the client's individual needs and desires for treatment.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have recently begun incorporating IFS framing into my work with clients as an accessible approach to inner child and also shadow work.
