I have my Master of Social Work from New York University and have worked in Social Services and Behavioral Healthcare for 24 years between New York City and Philadelphia. I offer individual therapy to support my clients in their work to live their best lives, whatever that means to them. I have experience working in inpatient psychiatry and outpatient counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will have some time for introductions and then will spend time talking about the specific challenges that brought you to therapy. I will ask some questions to gain an understanding of those challenges and will provide a safe and supportive space for us to begin our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a genuine, caring and empathic professional who truly loves what I do. I believe every person has a story to tell and even after 24 years in this field, I still feel lucky to be with a client as they share some part of their story with me. With my many years of experience, a tremendous strength I offer is a focused and personalized path to support clients as they strive to make impactful change in their lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with women who want to improve some aspect of their life. They may be stuck in a career they find unfulfilling, have relationship issues, want to be a better parent, may be dealing with a trauma or are grieving. Sometimes it isn't one thing but a general feeling that things could be better. I am effective at supporting people as they work in therapy so they can experience meaningful changes in their lives.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I understand the impact trauma can have on a person's well-being and this knowedge and understanding informs my work.

Attachment-based

This approach can often be useful when a goal of therapy is to repair fractured family relationships.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I have always worked to provide treatment that is culturally informed, sensitive and respectful of differences in values, traditions, and practices of different cultures.

Supportive

Utlizing Supportive Therapy provides a model that is open, nonjudgmental and focuses mosly on current issues. As the therapist, I would provide a safe space for you to talk about your feelings and any issues that prompted you to seek therapy. Often with this model, feedback and practical advice is offered.
