Watching my family members struggle with addiction was a driving factor in my journey to becoming a Certified Substance Use Counselor and later a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have spent the last 14 years working with individuals who are experiencing both mental health concerns and substance use dependence. You should know that I absolutely love my job and feel incredibly blessed being able to join clients on their journey to becoming the best version of themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, I will be focusing on getting to know what it is that you have been experiencing, which has led you to start therapy. We will work on building rapport and getting an understanding of your personal treatment goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is providing unconditional empathy. I work hard to ensure that I provide a safe and welcoming space for you to be yourself, without judgment, and recognizing that the challenges you are facing are unique to you alone. In addition, I come from a trauma-informed approach, meaning I understand the impact that various traumas have on individuals, no matter how big or small, and how they can play a role in their daily mental health.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults and young adults who are struggling with various mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and traumatic events. In addition to working with individuals who are dealing with substance use disorders. Additionally, I have experience working with individuals who are navigating life changes, such as being in a challenging relationship, the end of a relationship, or other significant life transitions.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Clients are the experts of their own lives, and I am honored to walk alongside them as they navigate their current concerns while also guiding them to rediscover their internal strengths and resilience.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Working with Individuals to help manage their mental health conditions and emotional challenges by modifying negative thinking patterns and behaviors. It's a structured, goal-oriented approach that focuses on present-day issues and teaches coping skills to improve mood and behavior.

Trauma Informed Care

A service delivery approach that prioritizes understanding the impact of trauma on individuals and incorporates this understanding into policies, practices, and environments

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

A type of cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on the idea that emotional and behavioral responses are not solely triggered by external events, but rather by our beliefs and interpretations of those events. REBT aims to identify and challenge irrational beliefs, replacing them with more rational and adaptive thoughts, ultimately leading to improved emotional well-being and healthier behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

This therapeutic approach is designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence and build motivation for positive behavior change. It's a collaborative and goal-oriented communication style that focuses on strengthening a person's own reasons for change.
