I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with extensive experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. With a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic approaches and a passion for whole person healing, I integrate mental health expertise with faith-based principles (if desired) to support emotional wellness. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and families, equipping them with the tools needed for emotional resilience, self-discovery, and healthy relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your first session is all about understanding your needs and goals. We’ll explore what brings you to therapy, discuss any past experiences with counseling, and identify the key challenges you’re facing. I take a warm, collaborative approach—creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we’ll begin outlining a personalized treatment plan and introduce coping strategies that you can implement right away.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Extensive Experience Across Counseling Settings – I have worked in community mental health, school-based therapy, and private practice, giving me a broad perspective on mental health needs. Data-Driven & Evidence-Based Approaches – My role as an assessor has deepened my understanding of treatment outcomes and the most effective modalities for lasting change. Relatable & Compassionate Guidance – With nearly two decades of marriage experience and years of working with adolescents, I bring both professional expertise and personal wisdom to therapy. Holistic & Integrative Therapy – I tailor each session to the client, incorporating traditional therapy, faith-based counseling (if preferred), and holistic wellness techniques such as mindfulness and behavioral activation strategies.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with women, teenagers, young adults, and couples seeking distress tolerance, coping skills, and transformation. Whether you are a teenager struggling with identity and emotional regulation, a young adult navigating transitions, or a woman navigating the work-life balance, I offer a safe and supportive space to guide you toward growth. My background in school-based therapy gives me unique insight into the challenges teens and young adults face, while my 19 years of marriage allow me to bring real-life understanding into couples’ work. I also support professionals seeking mental wellness in high-stress careers.

My treatment methods

Faith based therapy

I integrate biblical principles with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients in their healing and personal growth. Faith-based therapy allows clients to explore emotional and psychological challenges through the lens of their spiritual beliefs. I integrate psychological principles with faith-based practices, helping clients navigate personal struggles while deepening their spiritual connection. Whether addressing grief, anxiety, or life transitions, I offer a compassionate, scripture-guided approach that aligns with each client’s unique faith journey. My approach combines faith-based practices such as prayer, meditation, and scripture-based reflection with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to foster resilience, peace, and clarity. Clients are encouraged to align their values with their actions, promoting emotional well-being and a deeper sense of purpose.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a cornerstone of my practice, helping clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress. I utilize CBT to challenge cognitive distortions, develop healthier coping strategies, and implement behavior modification techniques. This structured, goal-oriented approach is particularly effective for anxiety, depression, and stress management, empowering clients to regain control over their thoughts and emotions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

For clients struggling with emotional dysregulation, self-harm, or interpersonal conflicts, I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to develop mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. I incorporate DBT’s structured skill-building framework to help clients manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and improve relationships.

Narrative

I use Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapy in unison to help clients reauthor their life stories in a way that empowers them. By externalizing problems and viewing challenges through a new lens, clients can reconstruct their identities with strength and resilience. This approach is especially effective for individuals recovering from trauma, self-esteem struggles, or life transitions, as it fosters a sense of control over one’s personal narrative.

Couples Counseling

My approach to couples counseling is integrative, blending Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and rebuild trust. I work with couples to identify relationship patterns, develop healthy conflict resolution skills, and restore emotional intimacy. Whether addressing infidelity, communication breakdowns, or life changes, I provide a structured, supportive environment for growth and healing.
