LMHC, 13 years of experience
New to Grow
Taking the step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it's a powerful move towards change. Finding a therapist who aligns with your needs and is a good fit is crucial for a successful journey. My name is Brooke Rimondi and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I have worked professionally in the high school setting, community counseling, and private practice for the past 13 years, supporting adults and teenagers with individual, group, couples, and family counseling. I love working with clients in all walks of life and in all stages of their therapy journey, whether this is their first experience with therapy or if they are an old pro. There are always new things to try and exciting things to discover as we work towards establishing your goals in therapy and what you specifically need from me as your therapist. I work hard to create a supportive, collaborative, and validating space where your experiences and desires are heard and valued. I focus on a client's strengths and challenges, using evidence-based approaches to foster healing, growth, and transformation. I offer virtual counseling to anywhere in Florida and offer flexible appointment times, including mornings, afternoons and evenings. The next step is looking forward to connecting and taking this step together!
In our first session, we will spend time getting to know one another and understand what initially brought you to therapy. Talking about the specific challenges you are facing will help us start to establish therapy goals and help determine a tailored treatment plan to continue to work on in future sessions.
Having a safe space to talk about feelings and issues in a supportive and validating environment is crucial and establishing good rapport with your therapist is a huge part of successful therapy. I am deeply committed to listening to my client's unique perspective and needs. The goal of therapy is to help you achieve your goals by finding the most effective path forward. I draw from a variety of proven therapeutic methods and incorporate specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This evidence-based approach is highly effective in teaching tangible skills to manage extreme emotions, improve relationships, and regulate behavior. Many clients, even those who felt stuck with other therapies, have seen strong and lasting results with DBT. My specialized training allows me to guide my clients dealing with intense emotions, relationship issues, and problematic behaviors toward realistic, enduring change. We can work to build hope, dignity, and a strong sense of personal empowerment out of difficult and painful situations.
I believe that meaningful, lasting change is best achieved through collaboration. I have an inclusive approach that welcomes clients from all backgrounds, regardless of race, gender, age, faith, or personal history. Together, we will establish clear, relevant goals that are important to you as the client, addressing the reasons for seeking therapy. I emphasize a solution-focused perspective, highlighting practical skills and strategies that lead to tangible, long-lasting progress. My role is to help identify and build upon your strengths, offering guidance and motivation in a supportive, validating, and collaborative space. I want you to feel heard, valued, and empowered as we work progresses toward desired transformation.
I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in my practice to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to empower them to take control of their own mental health and use skills and strategies to focus on healthier, more effective thinking and behaviors patterns.
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice to help my clients manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and reduce harmful behaviors. The foundation of this type of therapy are teaching specific skills and strategies in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This is a highly effective treatment for a variety of mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use distorders, PTSD, bipolar, and other mood disorders, conduct disorders and more. This therapy allows me to partner with my client as we work towards their specific goals to take control of their life and make the changes needed to live a life worth living.
I regularly use Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my therapy with clients who are strugging with change and ambivalence to help find their own reasons for change by exploring their feelings and desires for a different outcome or future. This is a highly collaborative approach that allows empathy, acceptance, and autonomy for the client to direct their own journey as we identify personal goals, values, and the steps they are ready to take to get what they want.
