Hi- My name is Jennifer Wolf, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois with 7 years of professional work experience. I obtained my Master's Degree in School and Community Counseling from National-Louis University. I have experience in helping clients of all ages with stress and anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, career difficulties, and executive functioning. We all need a bit of support in our lives at one time or another. Reaching out for this support and finding a therapist is a courageous first step toward reaching your personal, professional or family goals. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage, and I am proud of you for getting started!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing, including some background information to help me get to know you as well as what brought you to seek therapy. This will help me create a tailored, individual plan with specific goals for us to work through in our future follow-up sessions together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It is my biggest priority to create a safe space for clients to express their thoughts freely and be vulnerable. I am passionate about helping others and meeting them where they are in their journey of life. Some of my specialties are stress, anxiety, family conflicts, career difficulties, Parenting issues, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, Autism and Asperger Syndrome, communication problems, Military and Veterans Issues, Self-Love, Young Adult Issues

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using this therapeutic approach, we will work together to identify and analyze your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to determine the effect they have on each other and on you. We can then work to change or adjust unhelpful thoughts and behaviors to meet your designated therapeutic goals.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This therapeutic approach centers around the client- actively listening, paying careful attention to the client's feelings and thoughts. This assists me in developing an accurate understanding of the client's private world throughout the therapy session.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Using this format of therapy involves finding solutions to the presenting, current problems. The conversation is about the 'here and now' and the steps someone can take when moving forward with the presenting problem.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This particular therapeutic approach is used when assisting a client in developing coping skills, stress management, as well as managing their anxiety and/or depression. Mindfulness strategies include breathing exercises, involving the 5 senses, grounding techniques, and meditation.
