Do you feel powerless against the turbulent winds that are the challenges of life? You feel drowned by the downpour of fear, worry, and anxiety. Maybe it’s hard to see beyond the dark clouds of depression. Perhaps you feel swept away by the waves of past hurt, regret, and guilt. Or caught up in a cyclone of self-doubt and insecurity. Let me be your companion as we navigate these storms that represent the struggles in life. With experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and tele-mental health settings, I've gotten to know folks from all walks of life and dealt with a wide range of issues. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where we prioritize your unique needs and goals. Your story matters deeply, and I am committed to providing a supportive, empathetic space where we can explore your experiences openly and safely. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, license #85822. I am the founder, owner, and therapist of Rejoice in the Rain Counseling PLLC. I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a BA in Psychology.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, also known as the intake, we will get to learn more about you and give you the chance to share what brought you to therapy and what you would like to gain from this experience. We will also go over our counseling agreement and answer any questions you may have!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I would say my greatest strength is that I have struggled with anxiety, depression, and loss in my life, which helps me to see things from the other perspective and has shaped my philosophy to life, which is this: Each of us encounters personal storms in our lives. In the midst of them, we find a unique opportunity for transformation, healing, and even joy. Let the rains usher in a season of hope and growth.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My priority is building a relationship grounded in trust, respect, and connection. I take a holistic approach, seeing you as a whole person with unique experiences and strengths. My practice is inclusive, judgment-free, and allows you to express your authentic self.

Trauma Informed Care

I am mindful of what you've been through, minimizing anything that might trigger discomfort, and ensuring you feel secure enough to open up when you're ready. When it comes to tough experiences you might have faced, I'm here to create a safe haven.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe looking at the interaction between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors is helpful to create good habits and positive experiences. Together, we'll unpack those interactions and figure out how they shape different parts of your life.

Psychoeducation

I appreciate this goal-oriented approach for building skills such as effective communication, emotional regulation, a positive mindset, and coping techniques to enhance your well-being. And if there's something extra you need outside of our sessions, I'm here to help you secure the resources that'll support your well-being, whether it's support groups, career guidance, or other services.
