About me

Hello, my name is Cameron and I have over 30 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker and I see clients in person and virtually in California. I specialize in helping people deal with a broad spectrum of issues such as anxiety, depression, overcoming trauma, and family/relationship issues. I like to work collaboratively with my clients to develop an individualized approach that works for them. I also work with school-aged children and adolescents, as well as families and couples. Life can be very challenging and overwhelming at times. I strive to empower my clients to be able to cope with psychosocial stressors in healthy ways and to be the happiest versions of themselves. Collaborative development of an effective array of tools and coping skills is a primary focus of my work. I am an outdoors enthusiast and have worked extensively in outdoor/experiential therapy as a medium to deal with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental environment in which they are encouraged to share to their comfort level about the issues and experiences that they are dealing with. Through this process an individualized approach will be developed to begin addressing these issues and developing tools and coping skills to manage them more effectively.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I integrate a client-centered approach as well as a multitude of other evidence-based models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive processing therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused, and systems theory. I am also trained in the Gottman method for couples counseling. Additionally, I am open to utilizing any other modality you feel may be effective based on your circumstances.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have always been drawn to and enjoy helping people through difficult times. I have found that being honest, genuine, and accommodating are my biggest strengths and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. I enjoy seeing people set and attain healthy goals as part of becoming their best selves. My strengths include meeting you where you are and respecting your autonomy in determining what is best for you while providing observations and feedback from a different perspective. I enjoy working with both children and adults who are striving for change or just dealing with life's ups and downs through honest conversations and trying different approaches.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Children, adolescents, adults, and couples that are dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Additionally trained in helping couples address issues in their relationship by building skills to communicate more effectively and to manage and resolve conflict when it occurs.
