Trista Gibbons

LMFT, 23 years of experience

Hi! I'm a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Indiana with about 23 years of clinical experience. I graduated from the Alfred Adler graduate School in Minnesota with my Masters in marriage and family therapy. I help adolescents and adults who are struggling with trauma to find their path to healing and better self-understanding. I also enjoy working with couples and families to improve their communication and ability to understand one another and better work together as part of a team.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will spend some time getting to know each other and you will have the opportunity to talk about the specific challenges you are facing. We will work together to create goals and outline a plan for us to work through in follow up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my 23 years of experience, I make it my practice to create a safe and respectful space for clients to work through their most difficult experiences. I am collaborative in my approach to therapy and want clients to be at ease being their genuine selves and expressing honestly whether something is working for them or not.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated and willing to try what they learn in therapy outside of sessions. My clients are eager to improve but often don't have the tools or support needed to move forward and reach their goals. They often feel alone, stuck, overwhelmed, and/or anxious.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

I use an Adlerian approach to therapy. This means that I take into account a persons relationships both past and present as well as the systems they interact with to help me better understand their patterns of behavior and how they approach relationships and the world around them. I use this to help a person better understand themself and be able to recognize any unhelpful patterns.
