As a clinician it is my responsibility to support clients during their process of healing. As a trained and experienced therapy, I am skilled in assessment, diagnosing, as well as identifying underpinning or underlying causes of potential symptoms. With a diagnosis in hand, I am also trained in treating most mental health disorders. Thoughts create experiences. CBT therapy is an essential treatment modality that I consider effective for identifying, challenging and disrupting faulty thinking patterns .
I have chosen to incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy into my practice to support clients needing support with processing and healing from traumatic or distressing experiences. This modality has proven to be quite successful with supporting clients who are aware of how past traumatic experiences are showing up in the present.
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support clients that are experiencing challenges with managing intense emotions. Based in CBT therapy, DBT has proven to be effective in treating individuals presenting with symptoms alighed with Borderline Personality Disorder and other mental health disorders. The key is distress management and emotional regulation.
In practice emotion focused therapy allows the client to explore, understand and express their emotions and attachment needs, transforming negative interactions patterns and strengthening their emotional bonds. Through heightened levels of awareness client are able to provide their bodies what is needed most.
Grief never ends because love never dies. I offer a individualized approach to grief therapy. Essential during this therapeutic modality is for the client to identify their understanding of grief or what has happened, exploration of their new identify since the loss, unresolved grief and loss issues that might be attributing to symptoms and finally learning how to continue their lives in a productive manner without the physical presence of the ones that they love.
