I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Illinois. I have experience working with clients with a wide variety of mental health issues. I received my Masters degree from Clark Atlanta University and have been practicing for around 3 years. I work primarily with adults who are looking for ways to manage stress and improve their mental wellbeing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, i’ll begin by introducing myself and my professional background. I will explain the therapy process with my potential clients ( HIPPA, informed consent, cancellation policy, mandatory reporting, etc). I will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment to work to assess and to gain insight in specific challenges that clients are experiencing. Then, we will work to create a treatment plan to outline our goals for future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a committed therapist, my greatest strength lies in my unyielding dedication and passion for assisting clients in their journey towards meaningful change. I believe in working tirelessly to create a supportive and empowering environment where each individual feels heard, respected, and motivated to explore their potential for growth. My approach is characterized by a deep commitment to understanding each client's unique challenges and strengths, coupled with a relentless pursuit of innovative and effective strategies to facilitate lasting transformation. I am devoted to being a steadfast partner in my clients' paths to self-improvement and well-being.

My treatment methods

EMDR

In my therapeutic practice, I employ Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as a key modality to help clients navigate and heal from trauma. EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based approach that enables individuals to process and integrate difficult memories, reducing their long-lasting effects and fostering emotional healing. My expertise in EMDR allows me to offer a unique and effective pathway for clients seeking relief from emotional distress and a deeper sense of personal empowerment.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my therapy sessions, I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to empower clients in managing emotional distress and building a life worth living. DBT's focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness guides my approach. I help clients develop and strengthen these skills, fostering resilience and a more balanced perspective on life's challenges. This approach is especially beneficial for those seeking to improve their emotional and behavioral responses and enhance their overall quality of life.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a cornerstone of my therapeutic approach. CBT's evidence-based techniques are instrumental in helping clients understand the interplay between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By guiding clients to identify and challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking, I assist them in fostering healthier attitudes and more adaptive responses to life's challenges. This approach is especially effective for those seeking practical strategies to manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns, leading to meaningful and lasting change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

In my therapy practice, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients explore their inner selves in a compassionate and structured way. IFS provides a unique perspective, viewing the psyche as made up of different parts, each with its own role and story. Through this approach, I guide clients to understand and harmonize these parts, fostering self-awareness and emotional healing. This method is particularly effective for those seeking to resolve internal conflicts and develop a more integrated and balanced sense of self.
