Hi. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I received my Masters from the University of West Florida and have been practicing for 18 years. I provide a safe space for clients to work through complex thoughts and feelings. I love Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it helps clients to recognize distortions in thinking that are creating problems so they can reevaluate them in the light of reality. I also love Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on the problems.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will answer any questions you have, review the limits of confidentiality, and ask questions to learn about the specific challenges you're facing. I like to use this time to get to know my clients more, including when their symptoms or problems first started, and how they have progressed to this point. This will help me create a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with many clients in the field of mental health for 20 years, it has been been my pleasure to assist clients with improving their quality of life by learning new ways to manage their thinking patterns and moods. I offer a non-judgmental approach, which provides a safe space for my clients to open up about issues that are difficult for them to face alone. I also offer the flexibility of afternoon and evening appointments, which my clients appreciate. I love seeing clients in office, which aids in building the therapeutic relationship for clients to feel seen and heard.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients to change their thinking patterns by learning to recognize their distortions in thinking that are creating problems, and then re-evaluating those thoughts in light of reality.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I encourage clients to envision their solution, or what change would look like, and then outline the steps necessary to solve problems and achieve goals.

Compassion Focused

I aim to help clients who struggle with shame and self-criticism to cultivate the skills of self-compassion which is thought to help regulate mood and lead to feelings of safety, self-acceptance, and comfort.
