Hello, I'm glad you're here! If you are in the midst of a life transition, struggling in a relationship, experiencing depression or anxiety, facing parenting challenges, or stuck in past trauma, you are in the right place. In our work together we will explore your challenges, process trauma, collaborate on solutions, and probably laugh. In over 24 years of working with individuals, couples, families and organizations, I have developed a therapy style that combines several approaches, my favorites being Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR. My primary goal is to build a warm relationship with you, in which you feel safe and supported. I look forward to meeting you. **Please note that my current availability is 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pacific time.**
In our first session, I will learn what brings you to therapy and get to know you. I will ask a lot of questions about you, your life, and the people in it. We will define your goals for therapy. I aim for every client to leave our first session with a sense of hope.
In my work with clients, I have been described as insightful, engaged, empowering and solution focused. In therapy, I work to create a safe space for you, in which you can share, learn, heal and grow.
Clients who are a good fit for my therapy style are adult individuals who are ready and motivated to not only gain insight and process past experiences (including trauma), but also learn (AND PRACTICE!) new skills that will help them live productive, meaningful and fulfilling lives.
I use ACT to teach you how to handle everything in life that is difficult, while deliberately engaging in behavior that enhances your wellbeing.
EMDR gets to the root of trauma, without having to talk about the details.
