I began my journey to private practice working in a school setting with students while also conducting monthly family sessions with them and their families. I enjoyed working on communication strategies and parenting skills. As my experience and career have grown I better understand how anxiety can be debilitating and new ways to help clients using CBT skills. I chose to complete a certification in grief therapy as I believe loss and grief is the basis for why people seek out a therapist. I enjoy helping people walk on their path of discovery and understanding themselves.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our first session will consist of conducting an assessment that covers your thoughts on why you are seeking therapy, other modalities you have experienced, what worked and what didn’t. We will cover family history and discuss current symptoms.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to listen and empathize. I have raised 3 adult children and been a military wife for 20 years. I am well versed in life transitions and coping skills from personal experiences.
