I've been a practicing psychotherapist since graduating from the University of Louisville in 2006 with a Master of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Social Work. I received my license to practice psychiatric social work from the Kentucky Board of Social Work, and have a nationally recognized Certification in Case Management via CCMC, additionally I am a licensed supervisory level addictions expert (CADAC-IV) via the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium and a licensed marriage and family therapist via the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). I have a Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University specializing in integrated medical and behavioral health services, subsequently I also completed my Post-Doctorate Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2018. I've experience supervising and ensuring the quality of clinical services. My leadership and oversight has improved population health management outcomes, professional development, and system performance outcomes in various clinical settings. I strongly believe in lifelong learning and continued development of my clinical skills to provide advanced care initiatives to my patients. I graduated from my Master’s Entry in Professional Nursing program (combined BSN & MSN) from the University of Louisville in 2020, Post Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 2021, I am also board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to have prescription privileges, and have completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University to offer wraparound behavioral and integrated care to my patients in Kentucky and Indiana.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through follow-up sessions. Please fill out all the intake documents sent ahead of time and kindly make it on time for your tele-health appointments and 15 minutes ahead of time for your in-person appointments, this will provide you adequate time to get settled prior to our meeting.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Psychopharmacological Treatment (Psychotropic Medication Management), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked extensively with a myriad of patient populations, in a variety of clinical settings while utilizing empirically based treatment modalities. Integrity and compassion are at the core of my holistic practice. My specialties include treatment of adolescents and adults with impulse control disorders, mood disorders, substance-related disorders, interpersonal relationship problems, women’s issues, trauma, severe mental illnesses, sleep disorders, gender identity, sexual orientation issues, acculturation/adjustment difficulties, phase of life issues, end of life issues, and bereavement counseling.
