What I want you to take away from our session is that your well-being is a team effort. You play an essential role in managing your mental health; those roles include following the treatment plan, discussing your concerns with me, and seeking guidance when planning to alter the treatment plan.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The treatment method entails medication and psychotherapy. Some of the assessment tools that are frequently utilized include the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) to assess for Depression. GAD-7 to measure anxiety. MDQ (Mood Disorder Questionnaire) to measure Bipolar disorder.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my biggest strengths as a mental health nurse practitioner is utilizing a holistic approach to treatment. This approach incorporates the individual's mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social well-being, not just disease symptoms. This includes lifestyle, relationships, stressors and coping mechanism, because all these factors work together to impact the individual.
