I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and Virginia. I currently provide individual, couple's therapy, and some diagnostic evaluations/assessments. I have been assisting with mental health support for many years across various clinical settings which has strengthened my clinical expertise. I am additionally training to become a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. It is my heart's desire to continue to help individuals find their personal journey to healing, growth and change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know one another more. I will spend some time getting to know you and gain a better understanding of your desired outcomes for therapy. You will also be able to ask me any questions that you have about my clinical experience. This time together will allow us to develop a plan of approach to treatment that will best meet your desired goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am thankful to have a long-standing passion for the mental health profession and serving in my community. I have worked in a wide-range of clinical settings and love discovering new ways to support the therapeutic process as much as possible, which allows me to connect with a multitude of individuals with varying mental health needs.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Although I use a wide variety of treatment approaches based on the presenting symptoms, the Psychodynamic framework is evidenced-based and highly useful to explore self-awareness, underlying emotions that generate distress, and aids in better understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior. I enjoy journeying with my clients and meeting them where they are.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an evidenced-based treatment approach that provides skill development opportunities that can be useful to address a wide range of complex problems. CBT explores the thought, feeling, and behavior connection and can be helpful in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, ways to reframe thoughts to access new meanings, development of coping strategies that aid in symptom reduction, and improvement in overall functioning that can lead to enhanced positive outcomes.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed approaches help to identify the complete picture of the impact of trauma on several aspects of one's life. The impact of trauma can be overwhelming for many. I enjoy helping clients navigate these sensitive experiences while providing a safe and trusting environment with trauma-informed resources that aid in healing and recovery over time.

EMDR

I have been trained in use of EMDR since 2017. EMDR is an effective method that can be explored to help individuals change/rewire intense emotions surrounding emotional trauma and/or distress. Further assessment would be needed to determine if EMDR is the right fit for you.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an evidenced-based treatment approach that I utilize to help clients manage big emotions. Similar to other approaches, DBT can be useful in identifying repetitive pattern of behaviors that create barriers to change, coming to terms with what is within one's control and accepting what is not, and improved ability to regulate emotions.
