Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensed in Arizona and Virginia and am based in Virginia. I received my Masters Degree from Northern Arizona University. I have more than 5 years of experience working with older teens and adults on their journey to health and healing. I work with individuals, couples and families who want to be heard and understood.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will briefly introduce ourselves then discuss the challenges you are currently facing. This will help me collaborate with you to develop a comprehensive plan to guide our future sessions together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Approaching each client as a unique individual, I offer a listening ear, compassion and empathy in a non-judgmental environment where you can tell your story.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

It's not "what's wrong with you," but rather "what happened to you?" Statistics indicate that as high as 96% of individuals will be exposed to trauma during their life-time. By approaching clients through a trauma-informed lens, I have seen them reduce their trauma symptoms and find health and healing.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

If you have ever thought, "there is a part of me that wants this and a part of me that wants that," you have experienced an awareness that you (and all of us) are made up of many parts. I have seen clients gain insight as we explore the parts that make up our internal family. There are no bad parts, and each part has a purpose. Working together, we can work towards blending your parts in bring peace and harmony into your life.

Family Therapy

Utilizing a Family Systems approach, I have worked with couples and families to recognize that each member plays a role and that healing happens within the family system. Learning effective ways to communicate, address issues, set boundaries and work together empowers the family as individuals and as a whole.

Christian Counseling

If you, as a client, desire to discuss your challenges from a Christian perspective, I am willing to have that conversation. My clients wanting to explore their Christian values have found support by sharing their struggles with someone who shares a similar faith.

Relational

I am a trained NARM (Neuro-Affective Relational Model) therapist and have utilized NARM to assist clients in identifying how survival strategies learned during developmental years served them for a time yet may be at a point where the strategies are no longer working. NARM helps clients approach their lives through adult-consciousness and develop healthy coping strategies. NARM emphasizes agency and explores what might be getting in the way of experiencing your stated desired outcome.
