LPC, 8 years of experience
First, I am so happy you are here and my purpose is to support you on this journey. I am licensed in Texas with 8 years of professional work experience in the area of counseling. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I have over 17 years of experience working with teens as well. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes tremendous courage. I am passionate about helping you achieve those goals and am here to support you in that process.
In our first session, we will begin with brief introductions before we dive into specific challenges you are facing. This will help me to create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow up sessions.
I believe that I have an innate ability to relate to people and meet them where they are. Therapy is meant to be a safe space and an open and accepting therapist is valuable in creating that space, even online. I will work to understand your feelings and thought processes to help in the process of improved mental health.

It's about understanding and respecting a client's background, beliefs, and values, tailoring treatment to fit their unique cultural context. It's about acknowledging how culture influences thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and using this understanding to make therapy more effective and comfortable for the client.
It's about working toward a shift in perspective from "What's wrong with you?" to "What happened to you?". It acknowledges that trauma has a profound impact on individuals and their well-being, and aims to create safe, supportive environments that promote healing and recovery. Instead of assuming a person's behavior is intentional, trauma-informed care considers the potential effects of past trauma on their current actions and reactions.
A type of therapy that helps people cope with the emotional pain and distress following a loss, especially the death of a loved one. It provides a safe space to process feelings, learn healthy coping mechanisms, and ultimately, find a way to move forward.
A type of counseling that focuses on making better choices to meet your needs. It emphasizes that you are responsible for your own actions and behaviors, and that by changing what you do, you can improve your life. It's based on the idea that you choose your behaviors, and by making different choices, you can better fulfill your needs for things like love, belonging, and happiness.
