I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Florida. My professional background is broad and diverse, including individual counseling, employee assistance mental health programming, and crisis intervention during natural disasters. This range of experience allows me to meet clients where they are and tailor therapy to their unique needs. In addition to my professional training, I bring personal insight as a special-needs parent, giving me a deep understanding of what it means to walk a “unique” parenting path. Through my own sobriety path I have studied mindfulness practices and body-centered approaches, which I thoughtfully integrate into therapy when appropriate. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in both evidence-based practices and lived experience. I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes at their own pace. I currently provide therapy to clients in Florida. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cooking, staying active, and spending time with my family and our four rescue dogs.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a gentle starting point. We’ll take time to get to know one another, and you can share what brought you to therapy at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I may ask some questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and goals, always with respect for your boundaries. Together, we’ll begin to develop a treatment plan that reflects your needs and priorities. Many clients leave the first session feeling supported, grounded, and more hopeful.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Clients often describe our sessions as comforting and uplifting. I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and integrate creativity, mindfulness, and nature to help clients feel grounded and supported. I work with and support clients of all sexual orientations and gender identities. I am open about my own sobriety when relevant, while always respecting each client’s unique path.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I often work with adults and seniors who struggle with anxiety, stress, or feeling like worries are keeping them from fully enjoying life. Many of my clients are busy and feel they don’t have time or resources for self-care — together, we explore practical ways to make it possible. My personal experiences with special-needs parenting and sobriety give me additional insight, but I welcome clients from all walks of life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a well-established approach that helps clients understand how thoughts and feelings influence behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to explore patterns at a pace that feels safe, supporting them in reframing thinking and creating positive changes in their lives.
Mind-body approach
Sometimes working with thoughts alone isn’t enough. I also use somatic techniques that help clients tune into and gently work with sensations in the body, supporting healing and growth in a way that feels safe, grounded, and empowering.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Many people carry the weight of past experiences or worries about the future, which can feel overwhelming. Mindfulness practices, such as gentle breathing or grounding exercises, can help you come back to the present moment, supporting a sense of safety, control, and empowerment in your daily life.
