LMFT, 8 years of experience
New to Grow
Welcome! I'm Katrina Bobo, LMFT, ATR-BC. I am a creative therapist who enjoys joining with the clients I work with to create a space for healing and recovery. I strive to be honest and professional while creating an environment that fosters growth and connection. I have lived life experiences that I believe make me a better therapist. I have experience working with a wide variety of diagnoses and populations, which has allowed me to have a wide range of specialties.
Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.
My greatest strength is my ability to use creativity in combination with empirically validated therapeutic approaches. I encourage the clients that I work with to embrace honesty and transparency during our therapy journey.
Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest, starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I work with my clients to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows you to explore obstacles with concerns related to processing past trauma history, managing anxiety, battling depression, and/or managing self-care. I focus on utilizing creative ways to help clients develop healthy communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life.
I utilize mindfulness, distress tolerance, and radical acceptance to help individuals manage intense emotions and improve interpersonal relationships.
I use mindfulness and other techniques to help people accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, and then commit to actions that align with their personal values and goals to live a meaningful life
I utilize CBT to help individuals identify and change negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that contribute to mental health issues.
I use IFS with clients to identify internal "parts" like managers and firefighters using the Six Fs (Find, Focus, Flesh out, Feel, Befriend, Fear), helping the client "unblend" from these parts to access their true Self.
