Hi there! I’m so glad that we found each other! My name is Lisa Rubenstein and 2024 is my 27th year in the behavioral health field providing therapeutic services for children and adults of all ages and their families. I am a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and a Certified Florida Professional School Counselor (PSC: PreK-12th). My lifelong passion has been committed to helping others. If you are here, you have made the courageous decision to seek help on your healing journey! Ultimately, our goal is positive change, personal growth, empowerment, resilience, symptom management, and happiness all leading to a more stable and content life…WELCOME!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be a “get to know you” introduction, where I listen to your story and what brings you to counseling. We will discuss your expectations and what you hope to get out of therapy. This is a vital opportunity for me to get to know you and understand your unique circumstances. While meaningful change may take time, the first session will provide a solid starting point for our collaborative journey towards achieving your desired outcomes. Overall, this is an opportunity for you to take that initial step towards resolving your challenges, guided by a compassionate and experienced counselor who is committed to your well-being. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy because one size does not fit all. I am a “real talker” and do not sugar coat things, because none of us have time for that. I am present, empathetic, creative, direct, with an innate ability to bring humor to our sessions. We will bring our most authentic selves to therapy, build a strong therapeutic alliance which includes empathy, honesty, trust, respect and even laughter! I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can openly express and explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviors. We will co-create an Individualized Treatment Plan, with evidence-based modalities that align with your unique strengths, goals and needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are my empathetic nature, eclectic upbringing, sense of humor and my true desire to help others. With over twenty-seven years of experience in counseling, education, and human advocacy, I bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. I am also a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. I grew up as a ‘Military Brat’ which provided me great insights as well. I have lived in various locations, and worked with many clients of diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and identities. I am committed to providing the highest quality of care and staying current on advancements made in mental health. This keeps therapy relevant and effective. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, then graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Alaska with my Master’s degree. The accumulation of those experiences have allowed me to draw from a wide range of therapeutic techniques and interventions to address the unique needs of each client individually. It also enables me to provide comprehensive therapy that can lead to positive and lasting changes.
