Welcome! I am so glad you are here. In this fast paced world, peace can seem difficult to come by. I want to provide a warm, peaceful place for you to work through life's challenges. I enjoy collaborating with clients of diverse ages and backgrounds. There is hope for all people and relationships, and I aspire to transfer that hope to you. I can't wait to begin our work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin by introducing ourselves and explore what brings you to counseling. We will discuss relationships in the personal, social and professional domains of your life. We will then begin to form initial goals for our time together and I will answer any questions you may have. This first session for a child client will be with one or both parents without the child present. This session will allow us to address goals for therapy without making the child feel uncomfortable. I will only provide counseling for children under 13 years of age in a traditional office setting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a counselor, I learn as much from my clients as they learn from me. The counseling relationship is a truly unique and powerful relationship. I provide a warm place for people to share their hurts, disappointments, and struggles in an understanding and compassionate way. I address the entire person in my approach which allows progress made in session to naturally extend into everyday life.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I am a counselor who follows the Christian faith. I am comfortable praying in session, and enjoy integrating spirituality into sessions as desired by the client.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that our thoughts are powerful. They impact our feelings and behaviors. By addressing our thoughts, we can impact our feelings and behaviors. I use these principles as a foundation for my therapeutic approach.

Family Therapy

I believe that entire families can benefit from the therapeutic experience. I work with families to observe and correct unhealthy patterns of interaction that may be holding them back from truly enjoying life. When one person in a family is struggling, the entire family can be impacted. When one person in a family makes changes, the entire family benefits. Healthy relationships are the foundation to a happy family.

Play Therapy

I have been trained to use Child Centered Play Therapy skills in my work with children by identifying themes in their play that indicate how they are struggling. These methods can help children work through their emotions, correct undesired behaviors, and improve relationships with family and peers.
