LMFT
13 years of experience

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California, I have been dedicated to providing professional mental health services for over 13 years. My practice is centered around supporting teens, young adults, adults, and women who are navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, and trauma. In addition, I specialize in addressing women's issues, including perinatal mental health, ensuring a holistic approach to the unique challenges faced during this pivotal time. My commitment to professional growth and development has led me to actively work towards incorporating decolonial practices within my therapeutic approach. This involves critically examining and challenging the historical and systemic power imbalances that impact mental health care. By embracing decolonial practices, I aim to create a more inclusive and equitable therapeutic environment for all my clients. The professional services I offer are grounded in evidence-based practices, empathy, and a deep understanding of the diverse needs of the individuals I work with. My goal is to empower each client to achieve their personal and emotional well-being, fostering resilience and self-awareness in a supportive and professional setting.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial session, we will begin by getting to know each other through brief introductions, fostering a personable and comfortable environment. We will then delve into the specific challenges you are encountering, which will allow me to gain a deeper understanding of your unique situation. By identifying these challenges, I will be able to create a tailored plan for us to address and work through in subsequent sessions, ensuring that we are both well-equipped to effectively tackle the issues at hand.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

With 13 years of experience as a therapist specializing in working with teens, young adults, and women, I have cultivated a unique approach that seamlessly blends professionalism with a relaxed demeanor. This balanced atmosphere encourages clients to feel at ease, which is essential for fostering open communication and facilitating a deeper understanding of the underlying issues contributing to their challenges. My goal is to provide a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions, gain valuable insights, and work towards achieving personal growth and healing.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is effective for treating depression and anxiety by understanding how your core beliefs impact your mental health. Using CBT assists clients in identifying and gaining insight to their core beliefs and allows them to reframe and challenge beliefs to more helpful perspectives.

Gestalt

Using Gestalt therapy assists clients in focusing on self regulation, focusing on the present and understanding how your past influences your present and to gain awareness of your experiences.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma focuses on processing trauma. Clients will learn about trauma and how it affects them, learn coping strategies to assist in self regulation and process trauma through narrative processing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness based therapy uses relaxation and awareness activities to assist clients in focusing in the present moment. This will assist in being able to experience daily situations and stressors in a less reactive way.
