About me

My name is Lynn, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with nearly three decades of experience supporting adults through life’s challenges. I have a deep passion for working with women navigating postpartum mood disorders, and I’m committed to helping them find clarity, strength, and healing during this transformative time. As a seasoned therapist, I also find great fulfillment in working with individuals facing major life transitions, such as retirement or the shift to an empty nest. These moments can be both exciting and unsettling, and I strive to provide a compassionate space where clients can explore their evolving identities and goals. My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to help each person become the best version of themselves. I’m trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a rapid and effective eye-movement therapy used to treat trauma, PTSD, panic attacks, and more. I also hold certification in EMDR and have completed specialized training with Postpartum Support International (PSI). Whether you're seeking support for emotional healing, personal growth, or navigating a new chapter in life, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, experience, and a genuine commitment to your well-being.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is all about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what’s bringing you in at this point in your life. We’ll talk about what’s been feeling difficult, what you’d like to change, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions, get comfortable, and see if you feel like we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to share everything right away; we’ll go at your pace. I will ask some background questions about your history, current stressors, and any previous experiences with therapy. Together, we’ll start to create a plan that feels right for you—whether that means working through trauma, adjusting to a life transition, or simply having a safe space to process your emotions. Most importantly, this session is a space where you can feel heard, supported, and met with compassion—exactly as you are.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As an older therapist, I have raised a family of 4 sons, experienced empty-nest, lived through births and deaths, including my own 13 month-old daughter, been a caretaker for both a mother and a grandmother and have experienced life's joys and sorrows. I have been married for 30 years, raising my children in a blended family. I have been the mother to a child who struggled and walked to the beat of his own drummer. My father used to say, "You can never be happier than your most unhappy child." I have learned to be happy when my child was struggling to find his own happiness. Like many therapists, I bring compassion and empathy to my work. What sets me apart is the depth of understanding that comes with life experience—I’ve faced many of the challenges my clients bring to therapy, which helps me connect on a deeper level. I’m also straightforward and honest, always in a gentle, non-confrontational way. I don’t strictly follow one therapeutic approach; instead, I bring the experience and compassion borne from not only school and training, but from life experience to tailor our work together to fit your unique needs and goals, allowing you to guide the process as we collaborate toward your growth and healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you're a woman feeling overwhelmed by motherhood or are suffering from a Postpartum Mood or Anxiety Disorder, then I'm here and ready to help you. I have been trained by Postpartum Support International (PSI) to guide you through these challenges so that you can fully enjoy this new phase of your life. If you've experienced birth trauma, ART therapy is particularly useful and has helped many women such as yourself. If you're facing a major life transition like retirement or adjusting to empty nest, I can help you! With almost 30 years of professional experience and many more of lived experience, I understand that these changes can feel both exciting and overwhelming. Wherever you are in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, experience, and support.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I incorporate both EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) in my practice—evidence-based eye-movement therapies designed to treat trauma, PTSD, panic attacks, and related conditions. While both approaches are highly effective, I find that ART often leads to noticeable positive changes more quickly than EMDR, making it a powerful option for clients seeking faster relief.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use **CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)** to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. This approach is effective in helping you break free from unhelpful thinking patterns and daily habits, which can lead to increased self-esteem and more positive emotions.
