Hi, My name is Kari Homan Shannon, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I have been in practice since 2007, addressing mostly depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, PTSD, hoarding and trauma. I specialize in helping you find your own answers, so that you can live your happiest and best life. Energy work is my favorite (and fastest) tool, but is far from my only tool, and each session will be structured based on your individual needs and preferences. This will allow you to have the session based on you and what works best....

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create a tailored plan to work through in follow-up sessions. I'm a very easy going person, who is readily accepting, so you will only find acceptance and care in our sessions. I know therapy can be scary or overwhelming, I'll do my best to make it as easy as possible.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been teaching CBT since early 2008, and next to ERT (Emotional release therapy) it's one of my most effective treatments. It can help you learn how to not only be kind to yourself, but to keep the world outside, so that you become impervious to the things that cause you to feel depressed or anxious.

Faith based therapy

I use emotional release therapy for any client who has trauma that they are wanting to heal, without having to destabilize. This calls on your faith base, and is wonderfully helpful for issues like PTSD, Abuse, Trauma, Car Accidents, First Responders, etc. It's also highly effective and incredibly quick to see results.

Motivational Interviewing

I will use motivational interviewing to help you arrive at your own answers. Nobody is an expert on you, but you. I ask you questions in a way that allows you to come to your own answers, so that your path to health is more authentic and empowering.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

We'll look at the words you use and how you use them, and will work on your every day vocabulary to get you the best results possible.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Ultimately you are the most important thing to therapy and we'll center your treatment on how to get you better faster....
