I'm Dr Yuko. California Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I've been working in mental health over 20 years. I'm specialized in "Early traumas that still affect adulthood" and "Grief in general" by using "Attachment Theory Based Psychotherapy." I'm basically a psychodynamic psychologist. But I use another techniques such as CBT, solution focused therapy, person centered therapy, existential etc depending on each unique individual's needs. I'm supportive, warm and intellectual.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Let's find out we're a good match. I do "psychodynamic therapy" (I'm a psychoanalyst). So, the effective therapeutic relationship is very important.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Since I'm specialized in trauma and grief, I use "Attachment Theory Based Psychotherapy techniques" to focus on people's trauma (often early relational trauma) and grief. But I'm very flexible to use other techniques (CBT, solution focused therapy, person centered therapy, existential therapy etc).
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My strength is assessment and diagnostic skills ( I have done psychological testing for 20 years). I'm. also knowledgable about neuropsychology. I also have lots of experiences to work for LGBTQ population.
