Welcome! My name is Lauren DiDonato, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and stress management. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of daily life or struggling with significant changes, I am here to help you work through these obstacles in a supportive and collaborative way.

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, and then move into what is bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. From there, we will work together to build a plan that feels right for you. My goal is to provide you with the tools, strategies, and support necessary to help you thrive.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include active listening skills and a person centered approach to therapy. I consider myself to be a warm and empathetic person. I want to help you to determine what you need to live your best life and together we can work together to discover what this looks like for you and to explore alternative ways of coping.

Interpersonal

I focus on understanding and addressing your interpersonal relationships and communication patterns. I work with you to explore how current issues are influenced by past experiences, helping you gain insight into your social interactions and develop healthier, more effective ways of relating to others. Through this approach, my goal is to help you improve your emotional well-being by enhancing your social functioning and resolving interpersonal difficulties.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I help you develop skills to manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and reduce harmful behaviors. We work together to increase your emotional regulation through mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. My goal is to help you build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling while navigating life's challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with you to identify and challenge negative thought patterns that influence your emotions and behaviors. Together, we explore how these thoughts impact your daily life and develop practical strategies to change unhelpful thinking and coping styles. My goal is to help you gain greater control over your thoughts and feelings, leading to lasting positive changes in your mental health and well-being.
