Hi there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in South Florida. I completed my schooling from Barry University in 2020 and I have been practicing therapy ever since. I am a compassionate therapist dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards emotional well-being. Having personally experienced the challenges of depression, I understand the importance of seeking help and finding effective coping strategies. Additionally, as a child of immigrant Caribbean parents, I have navigated the unique pressures and cultural expectations that can impact one's mental health.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will do introductions and I will explain my therapeutic process with you. We will discuss the challenges you're facing and what you want to see as a result of us meeting. We will discuss what future sessions may look like and create a plan and potential scheduling. I will also ask questions so that I can get to know you and your likes and dislikes when it comes to treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over my many years of experiencing working with individuals with mental health concerns, I believe my compassion and empathy has helped people feel comfortable and safe. That safety has allowed people to be vulnerable which has allowed me to help them find the root of their problems.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I used CBT in my practice to assist individuals with maladaptive thoughts that may be increasing feelings of depression and anxiety. By using empathetic listening, I assist clients with uncovering the thoughts and feelings that may be leading clients to engage in unhelpful behaviors.

Strength-Based

Often times due to feelings of low-self worth, we may not recognized that we have strengths that help us everyday. I used a strength based approach so that clients can feel empowered and remind them of the tools they already have to solve some of the concerns they have.

Trauma Informed Care

Working through trauma can be a delicate practice. It is important that trauma is worked through with care and as a therapist this is at the utmost importance to me. With trauma informed care, I recognize how trauma can have an impact on a person's wellbeing. In my practice it is important not to re-traumatize clients and ensure a sense of safety and assist to regain empowerment.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize person-centered therapy to help individuals tap into their innate capacity for growth. I strive to create a non-judgmental and accepting space where clients can freely explore their unique experiences. By actively listening and providing unconditional positive regard, I to create an environment where clients feel heard and validated in sharing their true thoughts and emotions. Using this approach, I empower individuals to take control of their own healing journey and discover their potential for personal growth and self-actualization.
