Hi, I’m Kelly! I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker in the state of NC. I have been working as an outpatient child/adolescent therapist for the last three years. My goal as a therapist is to create an environment that you feel comfortable growing in. I love using humor in therapy! I have experience with treating children/adolescents with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, as well as detailed parenting skills for children with behavioral struggles. I also have experience working with young adults that are transitioning to/from college. I specialize in exposure-based therapy to reduce anxiety. If you are looking for a therapist that is willing to challenge your fears, I may be a perfect fit! I am certified in a treatment modality called MATCH-ADTC, that I use in my therapeutic work to help parents find what parenting techniques works best for your home. Therapy can be a scary step to make due to the stigma of mental health. Let's work together on normalizing therapy and allowing yourself to heal in a safe and confidential space!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be spent on getting to know each other and making sure I am the right therapist for you. I would love to discuss your current struggles and create a plan for relieving some of those symptoms!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is being able to use my personality and humor to connect with you!

My treatment methods

Family Therapy

I use family therapy to assist families in creating a cohesive, safe, and healthy home environment for every member of the family. During family therapy sessions, I require all members present to follow rules to ensure that there is no boundaries or disrespect occurring. Providing a space for all family members to be heard.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

I have been using prolonged exposure for two years now to assist clients in tapping into their inner strength to face their fears. I have worked alongside of children/teens and a few adults that struggle with fears of germs, darkness, heights, as well as social based fears.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT daily in therapy to assist clients in understanding the connection and power of their thoughts, feelings, and actions. I strive to create a space where you feel safe challenging your own thoughts!

Strength-Based

Empowering my clients to find their own inner strength is my goal! I strongly believe that you are the leader in therapy.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have used TF-CBT over the last year to address symptoms relating to traumatic events in children ages 5-17. I have experience treating children who struggle with symptoms related to sexual, emotional, and physical abuse, as well as traumatic grief.
