Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW from Long Beach State University) and have been practicing for over 15 years. It would be an honor and a privilege to join with you as you explore therapy as a path of hope and healing. I am here to listen and support you building connection, bonding and trust. Together we can work to help you gain insights, overcome challenges and live your best life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, the client can expect warmth, kindness and reassurance. I normalize any uncomfortable and awkward feelings and encourage client choice and voice in what they seek from treatment. I seek to join together to start to forge a bond through sharing a bit about ourselves and easing into the initial assessment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are my training, empathy, creativity and life experience. I am passionate and committed to join with clients to build rapport, comfort and a feeling of safety and security in our virtual therapy room. My acquired wisdom and dedication to the arts, music, theater and travel influence my own unique style and approach as a compassionate provider.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (level 2). I explore root causes of emotional distress to facilitate insight and understanding of the impact of trauma and stress on well-being and ability to cope. I seek to create a calm, safe space to provide nurture and care as we join together to increase awareness and reflection. Together we work on developing skills and building strengths to cope with pain, grief and loss and integrate and reconcile painful experiences to live a more meaningful life. I also focus on how stress and trauma affect the body and incorporate stress reduction and somatic techniques to aid in healing and relief.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I work with you to identify your values, and commit to what gives your life meaning. I support you in cultivating acceptance of distressful feelings while finding balance, connection and psychological flexibility. Together we build mindfulness skills, positive action plans and tools to find peace and joy amidst the pain. Thus, the goal is a shift in perspective to enable living a fuller life while embracing the bittersweet.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I work with the client to increase awareness of negative core beliefs, distorted thinking patterns and automatic thoughts that cause confusion, emotional distress and unhealthy behaviors. We work together to catch, challenge and change unhelpful thinking to bring positive changes to the client's life.

Narrative

I integrate the narrative approach throughout treatment to identify the story the client tells themselves about their lives, while creating the next chapter of their life with emphasis on strengths, curiosity and possibilities, self- worth, adaptive skills and resiliency.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I focus on awareness, mind-body connection, mediative and breathing techniques, stress- reduction and grounding activities to increase peace in the present moment, self- compassion, wisdom and breaking away from negative thinking patterns.
