I am a nationally board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with extensive experiencing working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, serious mental illness, and addiction. My interest in mental health started early when an immediate family member was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. My professional and personal experiences have made me passionate about supporting clients in their journey toward mental wellness. I will provide you with a holistic, non-judgmental approach and meet you where you are in your specific mental health journey. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy to treat a wide range of mental health issues. I work collaboratively with clients to devise a unique, personalized plan of care. Please allow me to help you navigate your mental health struggles.
In our first session together, we’ll start with a brief introduction, then review your medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial history. Next we’ll dive into the specific symptoms and challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I am passionate about reducing mental health stigma and treat people with mental health and substance abuse equally. I also understand the challenges veterans can face through my experience working for the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs for over 8 years as well as advocating for my own veteran family members.
Are you struggling with the daily demands of life including work commitments, family obligations, and an active social life? Do you often feel overwhelmed and find it difficult to balance it all? I will help you develop the mental and emotional tools to deal with these problems utilizing a mind-body approach.
I use motivational interviewing and related motivational enhancement therapies in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. Research shows MI in conjunction with psychotherapy and medications can enhance your mental health treatment.
I understand how common trauma is and acknowledge that any person I engage with may be coping with the after-effects of trauma. Through trauma-informed care I foster possibility, happiness, trust, aspirations, and wellbeing with my clients.
