I utilize CBT to help you change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. For example, challenging negative thoughts/behaviors with more helpful ones. Once we identify what you want to change, I will guide you in incorporating these changes in your daily life.
I can utilize a modified form of DBT to help you form skills for distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and more in order to assist you accepting your thoughts, feelings and behaviors, as well as the skills and techniques to change them.
I utilize Gender-affirming therapy as a therapeutic model to support you in affirming your identified gender identity and coping with related challenges.
I utilize Motivational Interviewing in many sessions to encourage you to express concerns to assist you in identifying positive changes and future goals.
Starting therapy can be intimidating, and I utilize Psychoeducation to provide you with the knowledge about certain conditions and the related treatment so that you have power and autonomy in your own treatment and we can work together for the best overall outcome.
