Congratulations on taking the first steps toward your goal of change. As a guide on the path of your transformation, we will work collaboratively. This is your life. I am here to facilitate as much change and growth as feels comfortable to you. I am an LMHC licensed in the State of Florida. I have been practicing since 2007 after I received my graduate degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Education Specialty from the University of Florida. I have previously been licensed as a Radiographer and Radiation Therapist, working with persons who have cancer.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We can use the first session to get a feel for how we can work best together and assess the issues that are most important to you. The subsequent sessions will be used to work through the issues and collaboratively find the best solution for you. When appropriate, I may offer assignments for you to do between sessions to compliment the work we are doing in session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I create a place that is safe and allow you to be vulnerable. I am supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental to allow people to explore parts of themselves that they are struggling most with. I approach sessions with a road map that is flexible to other routes that are beneficial to you and are supportive to your healing process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT techniques in conjunction with unconditional positive regard to formulate best plans with clients. The no-nonsense framework of CBT enables you to create ways to challenge negative thinking and develop helpful strategies to reach goals.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have a certification from UMass Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn. (MBSR) Mindfulness uses meditative techniques to help you focus in times of high stress to facilitate decreased stress and anxiety.
