Hey there! I'm Kelyn, a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Texas. First things first, take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards taking care of yourself and improving your mental health because, let's face it - starting therapy can be overwhelming, scary, and exciting all at the same time. I have been practicing for about 10 years now and I love helping people who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and a number of other issues become the best versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, we will get to know each other and work together to identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be short term and long term. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with a much more clear perspective of steps you can take to get there. I am always open to suggestions concerning our work together, including holding each other accountable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While I feel everyone can benefit from therapy, I know first hand how it can change a person's perspective of themselves, their situation, and their future. Having been to several therapist myself and having worked with countless clients over the past 10 years, I have learned what works and what is a waste of time. I've developed a tried-and-true process for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress- all while remaining flexible and working with you to determine what will work best.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I truly believe how we think about our problems impacts how we feel and the outcomes we have. With CBT, I can help you identify and challenge the automatic negative thoughts keeping you stuck in cycles of anxiety and depression. With that being said, I understand that everyone is different and one size does not always fit all. So, I have adopted an eclectic approach and am able to adapt to each client's individual needs and meet them where they are at.
