Hello, I'm Elizabeth. As a therapist over the last 11 years I have worked with a wide variety of people as an advocate and an ally in helping them heal and grow through the therapy process. Beginning to look for a therapist can bring on anxiety, but know that taking this step is already a major sign of growth. I help work through the chaos inside one's head to identify what are the actual causes of anxiety, stress, and depression. In sessions it can be a time to "vent" but more importantly, to identify the cause of stressors and what is and is not in your control. I help people learn to set boundaries, work on self-care, and coping skills, and be true to their authentic selves. I have always been an advocate for those that don't feel that their voices are heard including: LGBTQIA+ individuals, TBI survivors, Neurodivergent individuals, parents, college students, healthcare workers, teachers and individuals looking to find their self-worth. My approach starts with a person-centered mindset and by working together we will decide which therapeutic techniques will work best for you as an individual.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for me to gather information of your background, why you're seeking therapy, and goals you may have for therapy. I discuss the techniques I could use that may benefit you and allow you to ask any questions. I hope clients can come in knowing that they can relax and know the hour is dedicated to themselves and discussing their needs for therapy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

The foundation of my style of therapy has always been person-centered. I bring in different techniques depending on your needs. I utilize Mindfulness, EMDR in training, CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered. I also am a huge advocate in utilizing what a person is passionate about as part of the healing process such as: music, arts, hiking, video games, comics, movies, sports, etc. Using activities you are passionate about can be a tool for developing confidence and self-worth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have always been described as a very empathetic and compassionate therapist, coming from a place of non-judgment and unconditional positive regard. I tailor my sessions to fit each person's individual needs and never come to a session with a generic approach. I take time to learn about the people I work with and what makes them full of joy and feel authentic. Together we will work to make the therapy process a time of healing and a time of growth.
