Hola/Hello, my name is Erica and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), fluent in English and Spanish. I use a combination of evidence-based practices, including Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength Based, and Gottman. I bring over ten years of experience working with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. You are the expert in your own life, and it is my goal to meet every client where they are within their therapeutic healing process. I look forward to helping and guiding you in developing new confidence, behaviors, and skills as we work on achieving your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

From the first session on, we will work at a pace you are comfortable with to unpack the barriers in your way, while simultaneously taking action towards the future. One step at a time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is my insight and individualization of my patients experiences and needs. My approach to care is to create a safe and comfortable environment for all of my clients and I believe individuals can excel when addressing their symptoms from a systematic, family and individual approach.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people understand their sub-personalities and how they may be causing certain behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can influence a person's quality of life, and that psychological problems can be caused by unhelpful ways of thinking and behaving.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy focuses on your internal strengths and resourcefulness, rather than on your weaknesses, failures, and shortcomings. The tenet is that this focus sets up a positive mindset that helps you build on your best qualities, find your strengths, improve resilience, and change your worldview to one that is more positive.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-focused therapy (TF) helps people process traumatic experiences. It can help people understand how trauma impacts their mental, emotional, physical, behavioral, and spiritual well-being. TF therapy can also help people develop healthy coping skills, decrease traumatic stress symptoms, and regain control over past experiences.

Couples Counseling

The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
