I have enjoyed practicing and helping individuals navigate challenging times and achieve meaningful life improvements for over 30 years. My background includes an MS in Counseling from San Diego State University and an MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Fielding Graduate Institute. Throughout my career, I've supported both adults and children across diverse environments, including private practice, nonprofit organizations, and the US Navy. My approach is compassionate and tailored to each client’s unique needs, emphasizing resilience, growth, and lasting change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we start by building a strong foundation for our work together. This include a brief introduction and getting to know each other a bit. Our gather background information and invite you to share what brings you in, including any specific challenges you are facing right now. Form there we will begin identifying goals and creating a plan that caters to your needs. My aim is to create a space that feels supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping you move forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I bring over 30 years of experience to my work, which gives me a deep well of knowledge and perspective to draw from. Clients often tell me that I’m easy to talk to and that they feel heard and understood in our sessions. I strive to be nonjudgmental and approachable, creating a space where people feel safe being themselves. My approach is client-centered and goal-oriented—everything we do is guided by what matters most to my clients. I also have the flexibility to work with a wide range of issues, from life transitions and relationship challenges to anxiety, depression, and trauma. My hope is that clients walk away from our sessions feeling heard, supported, and empowered to move forward with purpose.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve clients who are facing challenging life transitions, coping with anxiety or depression, or navigating relationship and family issues. My ideal clients are those who feel ready and motivated to embrace change, actively engaging in the therapeutic process as we collaboratively explore strategies to foster emotional well-being, resilience, and meaningful personal growth.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

I have followed Adlerian philosophy since graduate school and consider him the father of many current therapeutic modalities. I believe the fundamental step in therapy is trust and engagement. In a therapeutic relationship client and therapist collaborate to achieve the set goals and objectives. I consider reorientation of behaviors and attitudes as important parts of relieving emotional pain. Attention to the exchanges between the individual and the sounding environment often clears the way for healing and inner peace.

Positive Psychology

Mixed with my solution focused trainings, positive psychology philosophy allows me to help my clients develop positive self regards and reliance on their strength and skills. I believe that acceptance of the past will ease the journey in the future, smooths the road to well-being, and optimistic and hopeful view of future.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been an ongoing part of my work with my clients as I believe in the importance of our interpretation of our environment and relationship with others. Awareness of the connection between our thinking, feelings, and behaviors is a major step in empowering individuals to self healing and happiness.
