Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT in my practice. Many of us are challenged with reoccurring thoughts/worries that interfere with our daily lives. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We will then understand together your distress, gain new perspectives, make goals, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life. We will work on strategies and follow up with using new strategies. Changes will happen through being consistent, using small steps in thinking and behavior each day.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a version of CBT which is often used for anyone struggling with mood regulation and interpersonal challenges. It combines Mindfulness (staying in the present), Emotion regulation (managing feelings) Distress tolerance ( handling crisis effectively) and Interpersonal effectiveness (communicating and setting boundries).
