I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), practicing since 2021. I specialize in addressing symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger issues, insomnia, and personality disorders. I work with individuals who are ages 14 and up. I meet you where you are at. Make sure you feel heard and seen. I focus on your personal strengths, and your potential. I take a holistic, action-oriented approach, taking you as a whole person into consideration, maximizing your potential for self-growth and becoming your best self. For me, being a therapist isn't just a career, it's a calling. I am passionate about doing my best to support you on your mental health journey. My style is collaborative, client-centered, holistic, and solution-focused. I am currently working virtual-only.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will get to know each other and see if we are good fit. The majority of the session consists of gathering information, identifying problems, symptoms, and what you want to get out of therapy. We review confidentiality, privacy, and cancellation policies. It feels like an interview, but its for building a complete picture of you. It's normal to feel emotional during this session, to feel like crying, or drained. There is no pressure, only share what you are comfortable doing so.

My warm, approachable personality. My knowledge of coping skills to address your issues. My ability to ask questions to help you to gain insight. My passion to support my clients shows through my long history of successfully assisting individuals with reducing, managing, and/or eliminating their symptoms and issues. It is not uncommon for my clients to tell me that I'm the first therapist they have had who has been able to help them, or give them hope for the first time in the therapy process.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My eclectic treatment method utilizes elements of various therapy modalities, tailored to your individual needs. I use interventions from the following therapy modalities: person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, humanistic therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Socratic questioning in therapy, which consists of guided, open-ended questions that help with examining and challenging your thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions. This helps you to develop more balanced and rational thinking patterns, leading to emotional and behavioral change. Behavior Activation has you engage in desired activities to improve your mood and break cycles of avoidance. Cognitive Restructuring involves having you identify and re-evaluate negative, or distorted thoughts, developing a more balanced, realistic perspective. Exposure therapy: gradually confronting feared situations or objects to reduce fears or anxiety. Mindfulness & Relaxation involves learning various techniques to manage, reduce, and/or prevent anxious symptoms.

Humanistic

This method drives the core of my therapy approach. I take a holistic view of you, focusing on your personal strengths and inner wisdom, with the belief that you are inherently driven to grow and fulfill your potential. You guide the therapy, and I offer support and reflection. We focus on current experiences and feelings, not just the past. The focus is on self-discovery, awareness of the whole self in the present moment, and exploring the meaning, freedom and responsibility in life. I accept and value you without judgment, and practice authenticity and transparency.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative approach that helps you resolve ambivalence and find your own internal motivation to change for the better. This method helps you to strengthen belief in yourself to change, and planning the next steps.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This method consists of building on your personal strengths and resources to solve problems, building on what already works. Overall, the focus is on coming to solutions instead of ruminating too much on problems. Emphasize is on hope and goals for a better future. This is a collaborative approach that puts you in the role of expert of your life, and I am here to provide additional support and guidance.
