New clients continue care with this provider
As a therapist, I often work with individuals coping with anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulty coping day to day and relationship dynamics. As your therapist, I will always meet you where you're at and help you in finding a path that allows you to meet your goals. I am here to help you find your way back to yourself. In our counseling sessions, I am here to support, challenge and guide you as you learn to grow and embrace new ways of approaching life. As a therapist, I also have a strong background in a wide range of specialties. I have worked in a residential hospital, in private practice, and as an elementary school teacher. Having a diverse background allows me to support all clients in a way that best fits their needs.
In our first session together, we will take some time to go over your history, your story, and what brought you to counseling. This is a time for you to share all the things you think it's important for me to know. It's also a time for me to ask questions on areas I feel we should look a little closer or dive deeper. At any point in our time together, you are always able to tell me you when you don't want to discuss something or aren't ready. As your therapist I will challenge you to face things that are uncomfortable, but I will always respect the pace at which your journey progresses.
As a therapist, I feel my greatest strengths lie in my ability to find balance in challenging my clients to grow and self-reflect, while simultaneously supporting my clients unconditionally in a way that makes them feel safe. I am a huge believer in the power of self-reflection, self-talk, and being present in this moment and I feel that this is a major catalyst in the growth process. I am also a therapist that likes to pull from many counseling theories and techniques to provide you with the best care for you as an individual.
It can be hard to know what to do or how to cope with the challenges life throws our way. Often times it can feel pretty isolating or leave you wondering if you're on the right path. If you are feeling like what you are doing isn't working or maybe you just feel stuck, you are not alone. These feelings often stem from traumatic experiences or feeling unheard by those you love. As your therapist, I will work alongside you to support you in your journey. As a client, I ask that you show up always willing to try new things, to sit in the discomfort, and to aim to meet your goals one step at a time.
This particular treatment method is used with clients who have experienced or are still experiencing trauma in their life. This helps to separate the traumatic incident from your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to support processing in a counseling session.
I use a combination of CBT and DBT to assist in emotion regulation, building healthy relationship dynamics, and impulse control.
I work with couples and families to process difficult topics or areas in your relationships that need to change and grow. Working with a therapist helps in having an outside perspective to mediate difficult conversations and ensure that everyone is feeling heard.
I believe the client is the expert in their story, as a result, I aim to always provide you with unconditional support and acceptance as we navigate the challenges of daily life. There is no right or wrong move in counseling, so long as you are doing what you feel is best for you in each moment.
