Hello, my name is Stephanie. I am a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Social Work. I am independently licensed in the state of Ohio with 5 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence. My favorite part of my job is helping create safe spaces where people can make sense of their past, find hope for their future, and begin advocating for themselves in new ways. I utilize attachment theory, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, and elements of internal family systems therapy in my practice. Outside of work, I love to travel, swim, and play board games. I am married and am the proud mama of two young kiddos. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I try to keep all of my sessions casual and relational. I want you to feel comfortable and at peace. During the first session, I will ask a number of different questions to try to get a feel for what brought you to therapy, how these concerns are impacting different areas of your life, and what your goals/expectations are for participating in therapy. This conversation will help us to collaboratively build a plan for how to reach your mental health goals. I take a holistic approach to understanding my client's mental health considering not only their emotional experience, but also their physical health, relationships, education/vocation, spirituality, and personal interests. Each person is an individual and their mental health plan should be customized to match this!
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Previous clients have told me that I am easy to talk to and that I ask great questions. I am very knowledgable in evidence based best practices and theories. I believe in learning continuously, so when I do not know something, I am quick to research and seek training. I try to listen to my clients so that I can truly understand the emotions that they are processing. I pride myself in consistency and authenticity. I genuinely care about my clients and want to help them be their best self. I want the therapuetic process to be everything that my clients desire for it to be. I want the process to be collaborative and I welcome feedback from my clients.
