Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, my goal is to gather information about what brought you to treatment and some history to understand you as a full person. We will discuss your goals and expectations for therapy and I will answer any questions you may have.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I create a safe and non-judgmental space to be able to meet clients with their current needs.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have had experience with working with all kinds of adult clients over the years. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, substance misuse, and/or self-care. Often my clients are eager to improve but are stuck in old patterns and looking for the support and skills to move forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate CBT in my practice with patients. It’s been beneficial for clients to challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. Then with that we can work to change thinking patterns, with the goal of less anxiety and stress.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is also incorporated into my practice. Helping patients to identify and understand their values and be present with their experiences.

Narrative

Incorporating the narrative approach helping to externalize problems from the individual in a non-judgmental way.
